But it raises a question - is there a problem with and HP all-in-one on a Vista operating system?
Inquiring minds want to know :-) I am already spooked enough that I am not going to reinstall the printer until I have HP solutions help me on Tuesday. Any thoughts from you all?
I use Vista and an HP all-in-one and I have never had a problem.
Those overseas techs are not all that good. They have to stick to a script, cannot think out of the box and have a cultural need to resolve a problem even if they can’t find the answer. Therefore, they’ll blame something else, i.e. the printer compatibility, rather than say that they’re stymied.
I just bought my second HP all in one, a Laserjet MK1319F MP. It is a ferociously complex machine that can require attention. There are drivers for each function and it is possible that there can be problems.
I am on my third go round with HP e mail tech support to get the computer to talk to the HP fax setup program. It will communicate for some fax functions but not for all. Everything else seems to work ok
On my earlier machine, the problem was scanning and the HP tool box. It also took several go rounds to get it to work. It also worked much better with the bus than with the parallel cable.
E mail is pretty good. Phone support with the same HP guy failed to communicate
