Former "One Day at Time" television star Mackenzie Phillips was arrested on Wednesday morning at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of drug possession, police said.
Police arrested Phillips, the daughter of The Mamas & the Papas lead singer John Phillips, after she went through airport security screening.
"Following a secondary screening, she was found to be in possession of what appeared to be cocaine and heroin," said Sgt. Jim Holcomb of Los Angeles Airport Police.

Must’ve relapsed. She was a big time druggie when she was doing One Day at A Time, and made some news in the 1980s about how she had beaten her addictions.

Very sad she was not able to stay clean...
To: Perdogg
She has had a history of drug abuse. Tragic.

I am surprised she is still alive.
I expected her to OD many years ago.

Too bad! That heroin addiction is a bad dog. You never loose the urge to use “just one more time”.
I kicked cocaine 25 years ago. THAT was bad enough!
Prayers for MacKenzie.

Sad to see her relapse like that.
I’ve heard that the famous rehab programs that celebrities go to have success rates under 50%. They work for some people, but others just don’t benefit.

And here Valerie Bertinelli wasted time losing weight on the Jenny Craig diet, when she could have used Mackenzie’s Coke and Heroin Diet.

She should never have gotten into the car with John Milner in American Graffiti. She should have stayed home and watched TV.
And what really did her in, was actually accepting the piston-shaped gearshift knob that Milner gave her as he finally managed to get rid of her before the big drag race with Bob Falfa (Harrison Ford).
You know, back in the good ol’ days.
