Good for you! I’m going to ice my foot for a few minutes while the little byos watch a show, and then I’m putting them and me to bed.

Got the word this afternoon. My brother-in-law passed on.

I pray that you can have the same comfort I had when my grandmother died. She had been ill and in pain.

Pat zotted himself with the fly-zapper again. He’s always surprised when this happens. He’s gone to his room to whine to the tomato snakes.

Well, there ARE other places here that cost less, but if that’s where you have to be billeted, then that really sucks!

I hope you have a lot of benefits with that!

Prayers for you and your family.
It’s always sucky to lose someone, but the consolation is that they have left their painful, achy, shell behind and are now whole and being cared for in a brand new way.

When I first saw that, I thought it said, “Pat zotted himself with the fly-zipper again.” And then I thought, “typical boy” followed almost immediately by, “NOT!”

Pat and zippers are not a good combination.

Purple, but the rest of the foot is nearly a normal color, so that’s an improvement. And it hurts only when I walk on it, and then not much.

LOL!
I thought you were going to say, “It only hurts when I laugh!”

I think I need to go to bed, or something. My eyes are playing tricks on my brain!
(This is going to be a silly day for sure!)

Wow. What a long day this has been. No action.
I’ve been checking (and posting) other threads and making a nuisance of myself everywhere but here.

*sigh*

OK. Tomorrow is another day and if it isn’t, it doesn’t matter. (My Mother said it!)

‘Night all!

The Boeing takeoff noise broke the ten-hour silence.

Thank you! The healing is starting now -- I left work late this morning and we all went over to my sister's house where family from California were (those able to travel). My poor sister was in a terrible state and feeling a LOT of pressure to meet various demands for funeral services -- yep, plural because there was no way she could make everyone happy with one service. But she had an appointment with her minister and we went over.

He was *very* good, and in a hour or so it was resolved to:
- a small family-only formal service with Eucharist right then
- the Union Gospel Mission, which holds Friday services at the nursing home, would incorporate this next Friday; all she needs to do is to provide a biography
- a get-together at a bar called the Beverage Hall (or something like that) where their friends and her co-workers could come (with perhaps some words and a prayer by the minister)

And the hoped-for "celebration of his life" party to be held some time later, when she has time to plan for it.

She was SO much more relaxed after.

We're going to miss him, though by then he was lost to us anyway.
