Good night! We did some clearing up in anticipation of TS Hanna, but it looks like we’ll just get a little rain out of it. We’re over 150 miles from the coast.

[Waits for the shaking to stop, then peeks around the corner to see whassup.]

Just had a little 4.1 roller quake with a little th'bump kinda hip action thrown in just to make sure folks wouldn't miss it.

No damage.

Good morning. DP made us bacon and egg tacos, after he discovered we’re out of bread. We had two full loaves on Thursday; it’s like the Saxon hordes have been through the kitchen while we were asleep.

Good one!

Morning. Are you getting any of Hannah?

It rained yesterday afternoon and last night, occasionally heavily, but we have blue skies and light clouds now. It may be dry enough later for Bill to run the weedeater.

I’m still in my nightgown, resting up after last week’s excitement. But we do have to go to the library, and Anoreth needs a torque wrench.

Nice here. Only 73, right now, with a high predicted of 103. No wind.

I’m a little depressed this morning, but I can’t tell if it’s just a morning thing (which happens a lot) or if there was a trigger for it. *sigh*

Today, I’m staying put. Nothing will make me leave short of an earthquake. Maybe not even that. Maybe this is a good day to curl up with “The Cisco Kid.” Or not.

Well, I hope you feel better soon. Tom just brought me a snake. She loves my body temperature!

Snakes are OK, but I don’t want one.

I hope Anoreth really likes her auto mechanic class. Back in the day, a girl never did that. I don’t even think they were allowed in the classes, just as guys weren’t allowed in “Homemaking” class.

Now it seems they’re interchangeable. And I think, in my home town school district, a semester of shop is required for girls and a semester of “Home Arts” is required for guys.

I’ll just hang out here until I can decide which way my body wants to lean. Somehow, I pulled the top sheet off the bed during the night...

Tom took her away again. She was constricting my left arm! Reminds me that she needs a mouse today.

Anoreth loves auto mechanics, even though they’ve mostly done safety training so far. Next Friday they’re going to the drag-racing track. An Army recruiter will tell the class how much the Army love mechanics, and then they’ll get to fiddle with the cars, I think. She said the instructor just wants to go to the track :-).

My son was a mechanic in the army, and he loved it. He was in small engine repair, and it has served him well over the years. He wouldn’t trade what he does now for anything in the world.

The army is always a presence at the The Strip for big events. They have cars in several brackets, as well as a NASCAR.

Well, I was going to get dressed, but Bill just brought me a dragon. He looks confused. Slash, I mean, not Bill.

Ah. You must be Mother Earth, today, then.
How is Slash doing? Is he growing? Thriving?

Slash is growing, and he seems happy and healthy. Doesn’t go to bed as early as Santana does, maybe because he doesn’t have a burrow. His foot looks the same every day, so maybe the deterioration has stabilized.

It’s good to know Slash is doing better. I don’t recall if you said what the deterioration was from, besides the midnight snacking of Santana.
