Impressive video. But The M134 minigun has been around for a long long time when the military scaled down 7.62 version of the Vulcan.
The video compares the Dillon with single barrel guns, but how does it compare to older generations of the 7.62 M134?

Unfortunately, reloading is slow. But it's just the thing for a defensive position, for dealing with human wave attacks. Then again, Claymores work well too

YEARS ago, when the North-South Skirmishers had their shoots on military bases (before Kenndy stopped it), there was a competition between a 30 cal machine gun squad and a 45-70 Gatling Gun crewed by the Eastover Rebels (a confederate group from Mass.)

There was a 3-4 tier row of cinder blocks about six feet long, and the challenge was who could take it down first. This was all good-natured as it was just supposed to show the increase in firepower over the years.

The 30 cal. boys started artistically trimming the blocks down in a left-to right-to-left motion, like in the movies. The Gatling stayed quiet. When the 30 cal had nibbled the row half way down, the Gatling opened up. The 45-70 boys aimed at the base of the loosely stacked blocks, blew away the support, and the whole row collapsed, far ahead of the machine gun.

Big hoots of good-natured derison arose, but all recognized the superiority of the modern gun. It was just a case of the old-timers outsmarting the new kids.
