Urgent prayer request

Dearest Prayer Warriors:

It’s been a long time since I have posted here on Freerepublic, but I remember how much you had helped me out with the prayers I had requested for my older sister Sherryl, and she is doing well. Now here I am again asking for your help.

My younger sister “Lori” needs all the prayers that anyone can spare. She was admitted to the hospital ( Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, Ca) a little over a week ago with a kidney infection, which turned into Gram Negative Sepsis with E-Coli, and developed Adult Respiratory Arrest Syndrome. That in it’s self was bad enough, but then on July 12th when they took her off the sedation medication, and she was not responding they sent her for a CAT scan and found that she had had 2 major strokes that affected both sides of her brain. The back of her brain was the part affected and there is still activity in the front of the brain. The doctors told me that if she survives this that she will most likely be paralyzed on both sides of her body with little or no sight.

I am in such a state of shock, and just numb, but cannot and refuse to accept that this is happening to my sister. I am in North Carolina, and being so far away from her makes it even worse, the doctors have told me that even if I were there, there is nothing I could do. Her children and hubby are with her and we are in constant contact. Please pray for Lori, the last I heard tonight was that her vital signs are stable and she responded a bit to stimulation by the nurses and moved her right side.

I have not given up hope or faith... I want her to come home and be whole again. I have called so many prayer lines asking for help because I know the power of prayer. If you know of any prayer line that is international, please let me know. I will forever remember the prayers you sent for “Sherryl” and the power those prayers had, will you please do the same for “Lori”? God Bless you and Thank you for listening to me. Dearest Pegita,
Thank you so much for letting all the Prayer Warriors know what's going on with my sister Lori. I have been waiting all day for an update and just got off the phone with her oldest son “ Freddie “... He said that there has not been much of a change, BUT she does respond to pin pricks and pinches (which tells me that she has feelings in her limbs and is not brain dead).. her oxygen level is down to 35% compared to 100% she has been on for the last week, and she is breathing a little on her own, her temp is down to 99.7. I told my nephew not to let the doctors discourage him as they have approached him about making arrangements to take her off the ventilator and feeding tube. He said he told the doctors that there is no way they are taking her off of anything, and that we just know that she is going to come out of this. The fact that she is responding to anything at this point is testimony that the prayers are at work and God hears them all. So, please keep the prayers going Lori’s way for a full recovery. I don't know how to respond to each wonderful prayer and email that is being sent, is there a way to let everyone know how she is doing at the same time? instead of trying to answer each one separately? I want to Thank each and everyone of you for your support and prayers, they mean so much. I will keep all of you updated as I hear the news, it’s hard because of the time change as I am 3 hrs ahead of Calif, and waiting for news is so difficult.

Urgent prayer request

The latest update I have at this moment, since I spoke with Jon last night, is that Lori has beat the Sepsis! The infection is gone! I am waiting to hear more as it is still early in Calif.. but I am so amazed at the healing that has taken place in such a short period of time, the power of Prayer is amazing. Thank You all so much, please keep the prayers going up for Lori as she not out of the woods yet, but everything looks better with each passing moment. I will update later tonight after Jon calls me and will let everyone know what's going on. They still don't know how much damage was done due to the strokes, so I am praying that she retains her eyesight.

Marianne, Only prayer will solve this matter!! We live in a very UNGodly world now and we, unfortunately, are the minority. Although, remember, God said that true Christians, one of HIS, could put a thousand to flight, and 2, ten thousand and so on. Our hope for this precious girl, is on our knees beseeching and interceeding for this girl. America as well as Canada will not NOT go unpunished for the shed blood of innocent people. That is established. God’s word is SO clear!! HE will be the avenger!! I, personally cannot fathom a Mother like Laurens???? Boggles my mind. But then again, if you don’t have God’s Spirit within you it might seem reasonable?? Let’s pray that Lauren will be saved by God’s Grace, Love, Mercy and Compassion. After all HE is not willing that a single person perish without knowing HIM. Only a miracle will solve this situation. Her sin makes no difference, we are ALL sinners. Folks like to categorize sin, but it is all the same in God’s eyes. My prayer is simply this: “Lord God, I ask that you redeem the life of this precious girl. Save her soul and her life. Protect her from those who would kill her!! Open the eyes of those making decisions and deliver this girl from death. Heal all damage done to her brain and do a miracle so that WE and everyone else might Praise YOU. YOU are the healer and the deliverer. Only you,Oh Lord, know the beginning from the end, but we, collectively, beseech you on Lauren’s behalf. Satan, YOU are the thief, killer and destroyer. We bind you in the mighty name of Jesus, the name to which you MUST bow. We plead the shed blood of Christ over this Girl and believe you Lord for your intervention. Thank you Lord Jesus that you will do execeeding abundantly above all we could think or ask on Lauren’s behalf and also Lord your Word states that if the thief be caught, (Satan) He MUST restore seven fold everything he has stolen. A humble Prayer for your little Sister...

Blessings Everyone,
I am here in Calif and have been at the hospital everyday visiting my beloved sister “Lori”. She seems to be holding her own and all her vital signs are stable for right now. She is still on the vent but taking some breaths on her own, and she difinatley knows that we are by her side when we are at the hospital. Right now it is a wait and see game to see if the anibiotics are doing the job as she still has some sepsis, the gang green in her fingertips does not seem to be moving (good sign) as the docs cant do anything about it right now with her being so septic. I dont always computer access, but will keep you all updated when I can. Thank you all for the wonderful prayers, please keep them coming Lori’s way. God Bless you all.
