Terrific picture and poem....
Wish that all of you who have been playing here tonight could come to my house and take a refreshing swim. Especially the ones with the sweltering heat....Amy and Marissa. Our weather is wonderful since the rain. We have had a couple of nice cooler days recently with several rains.
Are you still up? I know you’ve been trying to get to bed earlier. I am on here longer than usual and my lower back is hurting. That tells me something for sure~~~
The "over-mixing" of different cultures is one of the problems we face in the U.S. Not that one culture is necessarily better than another, but it is human nature to want to be with one's own culture. That is why blacks have not integrated even though they could if they wanted to. The "melting pot" that was America for so long was a melding of mostly European whites. They were the first settlers and the ones who came later were from the "mother" countries. Not so different. The melting pot is harder to achieve when the cultures are so different, so we end up with "diversity" which comes from the root "to divide", and it does divide. I don't know how to change human nature except through the love of God and the Blood of Jesus Christ. That is the only thing that can bring 'change".
We have had an unusually cool summer. We’ve only had two or three days that reached 90. I was still wearing a sweater until July 1. Now it will get into the 90s through August.
I can’t believe that I’m still here at all. I have had so much to do, I haven’t had time to “hang out” at FR. I’m going to call it a night. We have some thunder boomers going on outside. Summer showers..Night all. God bless.
I have often thought with so many cultures now and everyone wants ‘their’ language spoken, and do not want to meld into our country, that someday, this country will be so divided, like these foreign countries are and have been forever. They fight and kill each other all the time...I’m talking about the different sects, etc. in those foreign countries, that is what our country is going to turn into in years to come. See some of it today!
I frankly think Obama is the wrong man to be President and they have put him on a pedestal and treat him like a rock star. I think he’s cocky, conceited and not as smart as they say.....all I’ve seen him do is read speeches but if you get him at the microphone without notes or speeches, he seems lost. I think he’s got this country fooled, big time!The media have decided he is going to be our President. I do not like or respect most of the media these days.

On extremely hot days, there is nothing more cooling than a Popsicle. I need to restock the freezer. They are a sure way to get fluid into kids.
I thought the picture of kids eating ice cream was cute ... so I had to share it. Kids and Ice Cream for the holidays.
I THINK I saw a lightening bug when we were in WV; not sure. LOL
