We need to find some peat bogs up there! Lots of nice stuff preserved by them. Then we could explore for coal. Transport a bunch of O2 up there and burn the coal and pretty soon we could grow trees. An Apple tree or two.

Although these ingredients were known to exist in Martian soil, until now no one was sure whether they would be soluble in water and thus potentially available for life.
