JC, I know what you mean. My hummingbird feeder is surrounded all spring with peaceful hummers. Then, here comes roufus. He guards every feeder within eyesight, and will dive bomb any bird that tries to feed. (And he is smaller than the other hummers.)

Here is a youtube clip of a little hummingbird landing on a lady's finger.

It was this one (the lighthouses). I just tried it & was easily able to exit. I do think the problem is on my end with overloaded RAM (even though I have a gig).. Dont understand how it all works but ... I just know that on occasion I get “stuck” in power points.

I note Meg mentioned she hits the esc key.. which I have never tried.

I didn’t mean to make a big deal of this.. and I TRULY do appreciate the beauty you share in these power point presentations.

thank you

about 94 degrees here now.. the dogs enjoyed a swim at the river after church.

Yes Meg is right you use the ESC key to leave the Presentation at any time.

I tried the Lighthouse one, downloaded it and it worked OK. If you are overloading your CPU hit CNTL ALT DELETE and see if SYSTEM is running about 50% with nothing else running it should be about 2%.

If it is high, instead of just powering down and rebooting. Power down and cut the electrical supply entirely with the switch at the top back of your computer. Then switch back on again and reboot.

We all must have a roufus! When its not too hot and I can sit out, I will watch the little roufus park in the tree, waiting for another to come to the feeder and he immediately dive-bombs it.

That hummingbird on the lady’s finger is outstanding. People must be around those hummers a lot because in general if you make a sudden move (like getting up from my chair) they will fly. If I sit real still, they will feed a long time if they’re not fighting.

We had a wonderful time despite the heat. Lucky to say I love my laughy family plus my host-sister has wonderful friends of the same cheeriness whom I’ve gotten to know. If you like to laugh, it’s the place to be.

Laughter comes from strength and support and we’ve built a decent foundation. I should write a book.

To: DollyCali

If it varies then it is probably OK but if it stayed at 50/60% with nothing running then you would have the problem

Thank you, each and everyone of you, for your very kind thoughts and your prayers. As I wrote Cardi this morning, I must apologize for my delay in expressing my gratitude. I have not been on the Internet all weekend. As I just learned, we were both blessed and our lives enriched by our wives. I don’t usually like to share my personal feelings on line, but Cardi's slides of Italy triggered my note just as I was about to leave for the hospital.

Susan's neurologist says she has vascular (hemorrhagic) dementia, which is characterized by "a thousand micro-hemorrhages" in the cerebrum. She can no longer talk nor recognize words, and sleeps most of the time. In a way, I want her to know I'm doing everything I can for her, not just to fulfill my wedding vows but because I love her. Perhaps it is too late for her to understand. Again, thank you all for allowing this indulgence.

Liberating Truth
He made us accepted in the Beloved. —Ephesians 1:6

An unmarried missionary had been disparaging herself. She was unhappy with her life in general, but she was especially displeased with what she felt was her low level of spiritual growth.

One morning she looked searchingly at herself in the mirror. Then, very slowly, she said, “God, I thank You that I am myself and can never be anybody else.”

That was her moment of liberating self-acceptance. She realized that by God’s design she was an absolutely unique person, a Christ-redeemed human being who could never be replaced or duplicated.

Do you condemn yourself because you aren’t as spiritual as you think you ought to be? Do you see yourself as a second-rate disciple, lacking the gifts and graces possessed by fellow believers who seem to be models of prayer, witness, and service? We can rise above the mood of self-rejection and enjoy grateful self-acceptance when we put our lives into the nail-pierced hands of Jesus. “In Him we have redemption through His blood, [and] the forgiveness of sins” (Eph. 1:7). We are accepted and chosen by Him (vv.4-6).

If the Lord has accepted us, surely we can accept ourselves! That’s the liberating truth.

All praise to the Lamb, accepted I am,
Through faith in the Savior’s adorable name;
In Him I confide, His blood is applied;
For me He hath suffered, for me He hath died. —Wesley

Accepting Jesus’ free gift of salvation frees us to accept ourselves.

Dustbunnies

The sound that all dustbunnies make,
Depends on the form the bunnies take.
Sawdust bunnies grind and scrape,
While cottons make a quiet escape.

Woolens have a sheepish stare,
And murmurs that disturb the air.
Dustbunnies to evoke your dread,
Are those that lurk beneath your bed.

Insurgent bunnies, trained just so,
On tiptoe and in silence go,
But growing in such numbers that,
A stealth attack could kill a cat!

Poor Kitty! In her master’s room,
Hairballed down to dusty doom.
If you want to survive, then ya gotta get mean!
Bring yer vacuum out! Keep yer filters clean!
