JC, I know what you mean. My hummingbird feeder is surrounded all spring with peaceful hummers. Then, here comes roufus. He guards every feeder within eyesight, and will dive bomb any bird that tries to feed. (And he is smaller than the other hummers.)

We all must have a roufus! When its not too hot and I can sit out, I will watch the little roufus park in the tree, waiting for another to come to the feeder and he immediately dive-bombs it.

That hummingbird on the lady’s finger is outstanding. People must be around those hummers a lot because in general if you make a sudden move (like getting up from my chair) they will fly. If I sit real still, they will feed a long time if they’re not fighting.
