Utah, like Florida, issues a “non-resident” CCW permit. That means that in states that have reciprocity with Utah (Like Texas and 30ish others) Talon and I will be able to carry concealed.

We can’t in Iowa because we don’t have an Iowa permit, but even when we get that, it’s not recognized in a lot of states that the Utah one is.

Also, the Utah one doesn’t come with stupid restrictions about “you must carry $500 in cash for this permit to be valid” like our current sheriff does. And we have it better than some counties. Dubuque basically doesn’t issue permits at all unless you’re buds with the sheriff.

Huh? What's that for, bribes?

Last time I heard that kind of silliness was when I was entering high school and pledging a girl's club. We pledges had to always carry gum and mints in case an older member decided to ask for some. We also had to always carry a clove of garlic with us, so my cousin and I decided to put the gum and mints in a little pouch, in which we also carried the garlic clove. We ended the summer with almost all of the gum and mints we had at the beginning. ;o)

ahhh, very interesting! and handy to remember... although for us in Texas, getting a permit is pretty straight-forward, just take the class and apply.
