The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

You just need to buy some cat offset credits from Algore.

Nah, you didn’t offend me! Made me laugh. ;-)

Did some writing on my story during my lunch hour. I’m realllly liking that Baystate Blue ink, though I’m askeert to use it in most of my pens. Still just using it in the eyedropper pen that came with it.

It’s *bright*.

Well, then, you just have to get yourself well so you can be doing that relief work in the future!

You mentioned before that it came with an eyedropper pen...did you say it was free with the ink? I couldn’t figure it out and likely had low BP and not getting any oxygen to my brain.

I’m good now...could you tell me how you did that again?

That’s sensible. Normally, we have five people, four cats. (One of whom, you’ll recall, is Rosie Cotton.)

Yeah, it came in the box with the bottle of ink. Not cheap ink, but it’s a hugh bottle. The down side is that it’s a hugh bottle that has too narrow of a top to dip a pen (it has an eyedropper in the lid for eyedropper pens), plus some folks have said it stains easily and can cause problems if mixed with other inks (i.e. it’s not good in pens that might still contain a little residue from other inks - mixed with other inks, it can clog.)

I’ll probably put some of it into another bottle so I more easily can fill other pens, and then just use it with newer pens that have clear glass converters instead of an internal ink sac, since those I can be sure are cleared out before loading any Baystate Blue into ‘em. I have two cheap cartridge/converter pens that I could use, so I’m set there. Both are less scratchy than the eyedropper pen, though it’s useable.

I got it from Swisher Pens. I think Pendemonium also carries it. They’re a little harder to order from, but really good folks.

TMI, I imagine. ;-)

‘Tis a good name!

Hair and Ecurbh have a Pippin. He’s a handsome little scamp.

Did you order it online? Do you have a link?

Please forgive me if you’ve already told me this before...things were really fuzzy there for a while.

(Can you believe I actually drove down the highway in that condition!?)

Heh...I did a google search and saw that at some time recently I’d already visited Swisher Pens website...you know how the text on the link is a different color after you click on it...

I don’t remember it at all.

Swisher Pens

Pendemonium

I've ordered on-line from both, but Pendemonium's ordering process is a little funky (have to input item numbers manually and add it up that way, too), and it's probably easier to order over the phone. They have a lot of cool old stuff, too.

I last ordered from Swisher. I'm already eyeing more paper stuff...

How did you get the free pen? It just automatically comes with it?

Every family in America should have what you and your lady have as a minimum. Were I chief cook and bottle washer of this countries homeland defense I’d issue such to every capable adult citizen.

What state requires a 25 yard test, if you don’t mind telling ? I have had a CHL here in Texas since the law came into effect yet seem to remember on a 15 yard target as longest. Your 25 yard effort should be easy if not times as ya well know. Slow determined effort and ya’ll will be fine IMO per my following of your posts. Ya seem to have an above average level of abilities etc .

AK’s are very rough abd basic systems that go bang EVERY TIME. They make a great urban house gun yet even with all my efforts too tweek the MAK90’s that I own they all are less that 300 meter guns of a 18 inch torso target errrrr brisket. Not real sure of an after market trigger. I have pinged Archy and some others who will know is there is a good reliable aftermarket trigger for the AK series.......Good Luck Sir !

Stay safe !

Good deal on the new rigs BTW .......

It automatically comes with the eyedropper bottle of ink - not the standard bottle. It was tucked into the Noodler’s box alongside the bottle.

It mentions the pen somewhere in the description, I think.

I don’t know that company at all...

Swisher still has ‘em. I can’t link directly, but it comes up if you search for N1065. They look to have all the colors that came with the pen, including two different blues, the red, and black.

The black Preppy is *exactly* what I got with the ink bottle. For what that’s worth. Except that Noodler’s (well...that’s one guy, really) converted it to an eyedropper by sealing the body - putting an o-ring on it so that it can be filled with ink instead of using a cartridge.

The ink just kinda sloshes around in there. ;-) Holds a lot.
