Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I have drawers full of Bigelow’s both at home and at work. Mostly Constent Comment and Earl Gray.
Not sure what I am writing yet but I might do part 2 of my last year story. I have not thought about it much in a while and have not looked at it at all.
This is the freeper that sits two cubes over from me.
Cool. Heh.
I’m still working on last year’s story too, with 2 others at the same time.
Oh gosh...I hate that. I’m sorry. We’ve decided to do ours earlier next year too. If we start them at the end of April, then they’ll be done the end of June.
How’s your BP?

Hey 2J! Pardon my stupid city-dwelling question, but why were the 2 chickens that died while you were trying to get to them not just processed like any other chicken that was freshly killed? Does the stress do something to the meat or something? I just don’t have any experience with home grown meat so I’m totally ignorant of the process.
It’s a good question!
They don’t bleed out and the meat is full of blood. When you cook it, it turns black and yucky.
When we process our chickens, their hearts pump out almost all the blood before it figures out they don’t have a head!
Eeeeeewwwww! Makes sense though. I’ve seen that yucky black stuff around the bones of cooked chicken before. That’s bad enough so I definitely wouldn’t want a whole chicken full of that stuff. Thanks for the info!
BP is doing good. I have occasional spikes, but nothing like I used to have. I’m medicated to the gills and it makes me feel off-kilter but it’s better than the alternative, I suppose.
I go in next week to see if they can figure out why I have the vision loss in my right eye...
Yea, I knew you were waiting to go in about the vision...good luck with that. Prayers that they figure it out.
Last year we had chickens that were dying in the truck about as fast as we could pull them out. A couple had just expired, but we went ahead and butchered them anyway and it was fine, but very close. I was watching them, and grabbing the ones that looked the worst first.
This year was much better. It was cooler, we parked in the shade, and just nicer...if butchering can be nice. :-)

If you’re not doing the BJU satellite program this year, what are you using? A lot of folks on the TRISMS, as well as Classical Homeschooling Yahoo groups seem to like the Sonlight program for the elementary, up to middle school, age groups.

Well, there go my weekend plans...the gun show at the Deltaplaex has been pushed back two weeks. MrsEx doesn’t know yet.
The Hobbit Hole can help equip him with some extra gear that doesn't make his job any easier, but expresses our gratitude.
Those are scary cats.
I’m watching the first disk of “I Claudius.”
The Livia body count has started.
“I, Claudius” was an outstanding series! I just put it on my Netflix list!
*snort* They are not amused!
