>>I believe that I read that these exact episodes are being released in a box set on DVD for folks to watch prior to the movie.<<
Really?
I may not buy it (I own a few) but I sure will rent it.

Actually, Arcadia is my fave of all time.
“Woman, make me a sam-wich.” is one of the best lines spoken on tv ever!

And that they use the names from the Dick Van Dyke show as their cover.
“Not Petrie, Peetrie. Like the dish.”

No, it was a look-a-like but it worked and she sounded good singing “Walking in Memphis”!

"That and, "The Unnatural" were the two very best episodes of the entire show."
Yes, well who wouldn't enjoy getting behind Scully and teaching her how to hit a fastball???? It's all in the hips Dana.

War of the Coprophages is also pretty funny. Her name is Bambi????
Bad Blood, Quagmire, Small Potatoes, ..... too many to list.

“Home” was good episode, too...set in Home, PA about 9 miles from where I grew up, except someone in the episode refers to a local road as, “the 119,” telegraphing their west coast routes. People in PA do not refer to roads as “the” route number....they just use the road #.

Actually, referring to a freeway as "the 101" instead of just "101" is specifically a southern California thing. Even SF Bay Area people don't say that. I've lived in Northern CA almost all my life, and that's one of the ways I can tell if someone I meet is originally from down south.

Interesting....I've met people in both Oregon and Washington who also used, "the #" and assumed it was a left coast thing...unbeknownst to me they may have been transplants.

I live in Arizona and we call the 101 “the 101”.

I got bored with the UFO aspect almost from the start, lost track of the conspiracy, and quit watching those episodes. I really enjoyed almost all the episodes that didn’t deal with aliens though. It was like two separate shows.
To: Welsh Rabbit
That is one of the strange things about the X-Files, the show is famous for the conspiracy/UFO arch but really the best episodes are almost always stand alone stuff with no conspiracy no UFO and no connection to the “mystery”. When I think of good X-Files episodes I think of ones like Tooms and Attack of the Coporofages (however the heck that’s spelled) and Jose Chung.

The movie sounds really awesome, although after watching
Twin Peaks I don't think I could take David Duchovny too seriously... but I'm sort of excited that Billy Connolly is going to be in it - his comedy stuff is pretty funny.
Speaking of funny, the other day, I read an article in Wired magazine (
here) that mentioned what some of the people who were on the original series are up to now.
