"He waits for his accountant prior to reviewing his corporate tablets in preparation for filing his annual tax return."

Awwwwwwwww...........Chachi says "Thanks" for the birthday card. :-)

Did I tell you that jk wanted to name him "Taxi" because he was born on tax day? LOL. I talked him out of it. ;-)

Glad to hear Mr. KM is doing well and am looking forward to the picture ping.

I am hoping for a good report from PrissyMissy's teacher. She is a very bright child with lots of energy and curiousity. I'm sure that you will get a glowing report.

That was an accidental double post Mama_Bear. Are you using the PP Viewer or PowerPoint itself?

Thank you All for your Kind Posts about the Sweet Dog that I Hope will be mine, Lol. So Far she has been Very Quiet, and I can Keep her as Long as she doesn't Bark a Lot. : )

I was Supposed to Help my Husband Get her to the Vet Today, but when I Awoke I Found he had Already Taken her there; he Wanted to Spare me the Unhappiness of Watching her be Unhappy! I was So Touched by his Kindness, and he Asked our Next Door Neighbor to Help him. She is at the Vet Right Now, and my Husband Told me on the Phone that it Took a Long Time to Get her there, because she didn't Want to Go; she Probably Felt that she was being Discarded Again. :( I Hope she Forgets about it Quickly, and Enjoys her Life Here on my Shepherd-King's Ranch.

Have a Beautiful Day, my FRiends!

The Irish vocalist, Enya, is one of my favorite singers....

Oh, I like Enya too! And also the "eclectic Celtic", Loreena McKennitt. Her rendition of Alfred Noyes' poem "The Highwayman" is just beautiful - one of my favorite songs.

Are you using the PP Viewer or PowerPoint itself?

It's opening up in the powerpoint program, but I managed to get it opened as a full page presentation and the music played. Success!

Now, I wish I could figure out how to get it to open on my large screen monitor rather than on my laptop screen, but I think I know how to set that preference. I use both monitors at my desk and when the PP presentation is opened full screen, I can't drag it to my other monitor. I'll figure this out. I love a challenge. ;-)

Oh, what a sweet husband you have!

She will be groggy when you get her home, but in a few days, she won't remember much of anything about it. She will probably NEVER like going to the vet though. I never had a dog that did.

Chachi went through the trauma of back surgery and four days in the animal hospital. I was wondering if we'd ever get our sweet "Chachi" back, but today, thanks to a gifted surgeon and the many prayers from friends here, he is exactly the same dog as he was before his back problems....as happy and playful and loving as ever. They don't dwell on things like people tend to. :-)

Have you picked out a name for her yet?

Kitty Mittens, when I saw The Dog Whisperer, Ceasar Milan on the Oprah show I was amazed. He made her dogs stop barking immediately. Guess how? He spread his legs a little, and stood right in front of them (assuming total control), and stared at them. They stopped instantly.

So, I now, do that with my little yorkie, who only barks when she senses someone outside or the doorbell rings. I get right in front of her, and stare at her. She tries to move away, and I just get right in front of her again. She ALWAYS stops. (Plus, I tell her I am going to send her to the “naughty” room! LOL!)

Here’s a link - but there are many more:

Congratulations! I think Someone Upstairs wanted her to have a good home, and parked her at your place. ;-)

That is quite a trick - perhaps you can show me too. :) I am so glad you can now hear the music, it certainly makes a difference to the Presentations.

Someone sent me email of these islands a few months ago. The music that has been added is a special treat.

Thank you for these wonderful presentations, Cardu.

Aerial view of Boldt Castle

High on my list of recommendations for anyone coming east would be Niagara Falls--and Thousand Islands. The boat trip to Boldt Castle and around the islands is a wonderful experience.

* * *

In the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century many distinguished visitors made the region widely known as a summer resort. Several grand hotels provided luxurious accommodations while steamboats offered extensive tours among the islands. Wealthy and middle-class summer residents built summer homes. Some masonry "castles" remain as international landmarks. The most famous extant examples are "The Towers" on Dark Island, now called Singer Castle, and the long-neglected Boldt Castle on Heart Island, which is slowly being restored.

During the half century (1874-1912) of the resort's greatest prominence, most wealthy vacationers came from New York City, joined by prominent families from Chicago, Pittsburgh and other cities of the United States and Canada. The region retains a historically important collection of vacation homes from this time. The Thousand Islands have long been a center for recreational boating. Large steam yachts, many designed by Nathanael Herreshoff required distinctive yacht houses. The region was known also for innovative power boating during this period. Three local yacht clubs hosted the Gold Cup Races of the American Power Boat Association for nine consecutive years. The Antique Boat Museum of Clayton, New York retains one of the world's major collections of recreational freshwater boats.

The Thousand Islands gave their name to the popular Thousand Island Dressing around the turn of the twentieth century when Sophie LaLonde, of Clayton, New York who served the dressing at dinner for guests of her husband, a popular fishing guide, gave the recipe to Clayton hotel owner Ella Bertrand and New York City stage actress May Irwin. Irwin shared it with hotel magnate George C. Boldt.

The town most associated with the Thousand Islands on the American side is Alexandria Bay, New York. Here, free dock space is available to all boaters who wish to come ashore and walk through the village, which is located right alongside the docks. Souvenir shops, clubs, restaurants, ice cream parlors, pizza shops and arcades run the length of James St., the street directly adjacent to the docks.

Sunset over one of the smallest of the Thousand Islands. It supports one tree and two shrubs.

Hubby and I were just discussing what a beautiful place this would be for a vacation.

I’m sure it will not be in the near future, but it is a great dream.

Yes the music does help to create a pleasurable experience for both senses. I have quite a number of Ernesto Cotazar´s piano pieces.
