Selling tons of plants
smiling at all customers
gritting my teeth lots
Buying lots of plants
planting them will surely please
with pretty flowers
colors like bright jewels
lighting up the world each day
make it all worthwhile
back to you!
Kids are so different and so funny! Jessa was alwasy stubborn too. Hers was more, I can do that—let me!
She liked sewing from an early age, and insisted on threading her own needles, to the point where she would make the motions in her sleep. She badgered me to death until I taught her to use my sewing machine and finally I bought her a child’s machine of her own.
Everything you see is plant material: petals, leaves, stems, seeds, bark, etc., and every float must incorporate roses in the design.
I compressed these images as much as I know how; hope it's not a problem for anyone...
.
Excellent...:)
Can you tell it’s past my bedtime and it’s been a lllooonnnggg day?! LOL
Can we say...grumpy?!
I love working at the garden center and growing and selling plants. Today was the day from you know where. I swear, I don’t know where all the people come from! We only have 4 people working, and we all float around. The only thing I won’t do anymore is load heavy stuff. I went in an hour early to get started watering, and do a little cleaning. We open at 8:00. First customer was there before —I let him in and started unlocking. He wandered through, after he asked me if he was early and why wasn’t i open yet, and bought nothing! I’ll be back next week! The whole day was pretty much like taht. LOL
Isat down once—ONCE—while the copier was printing off some information sheets for a customer and I had one follow me into the office—I need some plants out here. Shaking head. All you can do is grin!
WOW!
I took these on January 2, where they park the floats after the parade. It is all stunning!!!
Having worked on my share of floats for scouts, FFA, whatever, I stand in awe of what they do for the Rose Parade. If I wasn’t such a hombody, I’d love to see it in person! Cally is just too far away!
Yeah, everyone had been bitten! I gotta go to bed—I’m falling asleep on my keyboard! Nite, y’all!
Well-deserved sweet slumber to you, GG:)

Snip, snip and clip clip
Flowers on the table now
brighten all the days
Next?
Sounds like J F Kerry to me.
Thanks for the Kerry rat and song lyrics.
These floats always amaze me.
I would like to see them up close but we will not fight that traffic. Guess that I will keep watching them on TV.
Thanks for sharing these pictures with us, Dita.
The tri-tips were good but it is so hot that I have left overs for next week.
Hmmm .... Between the steaks and the roast I may get by without cooking next week. I wish I hadn’t defrosted that pork roast.
Good night, Gardengirl.
Rest well. Is the store closed tomorrow?
