Why would he be considered the biggest star in the world right now?

From TMZ:
George Michael is performing on tonight's "Idol" finale, but he ain't "the biggest star in the world" that Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe has been touting -- our spies tell us, it's "Iron Man" Robert Downey Jr. (cont.)
"Idol" Pips Out "Iron Man"

I dont know anything about Zabasearch but how can their counts be so close and DialIdols not? I are konfuzed. Supposedly, zabasearch counts all phone votes and text votes, while Dial Idol c an only count those votes cast while using their software.

Back in early April 2007 American Idol announced that they were looking for amateur songwriters. Heres a quote from American Idols webpage dated April 11, 2007.
“American Idol has been the vehicle for discovering so many great new artists over the years and now, with the launch of American Idol Songwriter, we are searching for great undiscovered songwriting talent, stated Simon Fuller.
“ Having an untapped songwriter create the winners single seemed like a natural next step for our show. Not only do the fans pick their American Idol, but also his or her first single. This show has always been, and will continue to be, all about fulfilling dreams.”
So, how much success could a person have before they stop being an amateur?????? This year’s winner is Regie Hamm
Regie’s work has a cinematic quality that leaves the listener with the feeling of an experience they will not soon forget. His critically acclaimed debut solo album, American Dreams (Universal South/Refugee), yielded the Billboard top 15 AC hit “Babies.”
As a songwriter, Regie has enjoyed more than 400 cuts — over 20 of them number one hits — and he was honored as the “SESAC Songwriter of the Year” in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2000. He has multiple Grammy and Dove Award nominations as both a producer and writer. He currently writes with, produces and plays in the band “Smokey Lonesome”. Their debut record is soon to be released. He continues to play solo dates and is working in the studio on a new solo record.

If the biggest star in the world isn’t a singer then maybe its Morton Downey jr., Iron Man?

So, how much success could a person have before they stop being an amateur??????A better question might be how long the public will continue to put up with the increasing dishonesty of the AI powers that be, before the show tanks into oblivion. Nothing lasts forever.

From TMZ: TMZ moles say the finale will include a virtual hologram of Gladys Knight singing "Midnight Train to Georgia" with Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Downey Jr. singing backup as the Pips. Holy Nat King Cole! "Idol" did this last season when Celine Dion sang along side a virtual undead Elvis. For the record, Gladys Knight is still alive.
Weren't these guys on last year's show? Am I the only one who doesn't find them funny?

Or, am I showing my age and she has performed and I dont remember?ROFL! It's not as bad as all that. :)
Jordin had a vocal chord hemorrhage in April. She was supposed to tour with Alicia Keyes, but had to drop out before the tour got started. She's supposed to join the tour this month, but I haven't seen any news that she, in fact, has done so.

I can imagine...I am reading that RD Jr. has a new movie with JB and BS where he has an operation to become a black actor? Perhaps this is why they are being Pips?

Who is MJ? And why is Jason singing? We voted him off for a reason! Why have him sing now? They always bring back the top 10 (the tour) for the finale. Dangaya was so pissed that he didn't get to perform that he has a vid up and is just a b******'.
