Does Paula's mental meltdown mean that the show is scripted? IOW do the judges attend the rehearsal just before the live show, and write, or rather, in Paula's case, have someone write the comments for them??
BTW..Monchici's "Sweet Carolina" was AWFUL..terrible arrangement, and his voice was all over the palce..

IOW do the judges attend the rehearsal just before the live show, and write, or rather, in Paula's case, have someone write the comments for them?? Maybe someone that tivo'd the show can clarify something for me. I thought Paula said she didn't care for Jason's second performance, yet when she was remindedthat Jason hadn't sung a second song yet, I thought she tried to explain that she got it confused with David Cook's song. The problem with this is that I thought she liked David Cosk's performance.
So, if she did just get Cook's performance confused and attribute it to Jason, whouldn't Jason have gotten a favorable review on his second song which was actually Cook?
Her story just didn't mesh for me.

Paulas comments showed that producers tell the judges what opinions to have about various contestants. This theory suggests that it is producers who decide which contestants are praised or criticized, which helps determine who eventually wins the competition. OR
Even though the producers might not be directing the judges on what opinions to have, the judges might be making up their minds about the contestants performances during the rehearsals. If the judges have already formed pre-scripted opinions based on rehearsal, then it might not matter how well the contestants perform during the actual show.
EITHER WAY, THIS SHOW IS RIGGED.

I don't for one second buy the explanation given by Paula herself, that she was momentarily confused and was reading her notes for David Cook; if that was the case, how come she changed course, seconds later, and told Cook he was ''fantastic''? At the ad break, the judges were all whisked out of the studio, Syesha Mercado, David Cook, David Archuleta and Brooke White left waving to the audience, and Jason Castro was left on a stool, stage center, contemplating what, exactly, had just happened.

The judges attend the dress rehearsal and Isuspect Paula wrote her responses then, or somebody did.

It's a conspiracy!! LOL
All this from Paula's nutty behavior last night? We'll need more proof than that.
If the show was rigged, Daughtry would have won in Season 5.

I wish I’d thought of that one....but my two most hated meals on the planet are liver & onions and salmon & scrambled eggs....and I don’t mean fresh grilled salmon, I meant that yuck that comes out of a can....everytime my mother fixes either meal my dad calls laughing asking if I want to come over and eat....after I gag a couple of times I tell him no! and hang up....Parents think they’re so funny!

Isuspect Paula wrote her responses then, or somebody did.If so, I can't blame her or the show.
Paula isn't the most lucid person in the world. On a good night, she can be easily confused.
Last night was not a good night. The format was screwed up and the judges were forced to rush threw a landry list of opinions very quickly. Surprise--Paula got confused.
Paula: "This is hard!"
Sorry, that's not enough to build a conspiracy on.

There is also chatter on MJs that David C. wants to sabotage himself tonight to get ready for his own record tour. I don't believe it. Forgive me for saying so, but I've told my girls that either of the Davids could take a poop on the stage and there'd be enough adoring fans saying, "Look at it-it's so CUTE!" to carry them to the next round.
After they finished laughing hysterically, they agreed.

I
t's a shame, too, because Monchichi's talent is a yard wide and a quarter-inch deep.Actually, if you listen to some of the stuff he did when much younger, he's pretty phenomenal. Remember, he is all of 17 - and there are very few young people who have sufficient composure and maturity to be the whole package. (Which is why, IMHO, I believe they should raise the minimum age for AI to at least 18) I think he can only improve from here.
David Cook was a surprise to them
ooh, yeah. He was a surprise to many. I did not like him much in the beginning, but you can see he's been taking his coaching very seriously, and it's polished off any rough edges he had at first. He's a real gem. I don't listen to much music these days (more talk radio than anything else) but I find myself listening to his stuff and loving it.

You need more proof that it's not scripted?
Did you pay attention last night?
A. Paula took notes during Idol dress rehearsals and used them (at least in part) to critique the televised live performances.
B. Paula was reading from notes given to her by the show’s producers.
Either way the show is rigged. I'm in the prejudging camp. The judges should never see nor hear rehearsals, and even if they do, how are they going to give impartial feedback of the performances the viewing public sees on their TV screens? This show has lost all credibility, and this coming from a 7 season fan.
You can laugh off the facts with some irrelevant reference to Daughtry, but I thought at least you would could do better than say “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”...

From the spoiler comments, we know that during rehearsals there are “fake” judges. So perhaps someone already scripted the comments for Paula based on rehearsals. If that is the case, Idol just exposed itself big time.

IMO, for next season, they have to limit votes. Say, 5 or 10 votes per phone line, something like that. Put an end to the demon dialers’ control of the outcome.
