Because, even though the theme is musicals, there are still different types of songs to choose from. A ballad is a ballad whether its in a musical or not.
The last two reeked. I think the upbeat songs are a little more forgiving. jmo
Oh yeah, Madonna stunk up that song. But she’s always been style over substance anyway.
An article earlier insinuated he’d only seen the last week of it...so you definitely seem to be correct! LOL!
I certainly hope your gut is right but the judges will love him anyway
I can picture it being some kind of perverse theme party with his gay friends. Elton John and Graham Norton could be there.
Now I have to wash my brain out with soap.
From your keyboard to God’s monitor! ;-)
I agree! Brooke was WAY better than Madonna!
I thought Simon showed real class when he told her he would have done the same thing if it was him forgetting the lyrics.
Actually I thought Brooke’s vocals were rather lifeless and dull. I’ve never listened to Madonna’s version, but then again I’ve never been a fan of anything she’s done either.
Weber: I didn't think she had a clue what she was singing about. (But Weber coaches her and is ultimately impressed)
Brooke starts singing ... then abruptly stops.
She looks at the conductor: "I'm sorry."
An awkward moment of silence, then the song begins again. No interruptions this time.
Again, no clue what this song is. It's very melodramatic, whatever it is. "You must love ... me."
She gets a standing-o.
Randy: For me, it wasn't great. You need to believe what you were singing. Vocally it was just a little tough. Paula?
Paula: (she says nothing for a full 5 seconds--her eyes are closed. What's going on with her tonight?) You must never start and stop. (LOL!) You're great enough that you can pick up the pieces.
Simon: This is why I love live television. So dramatic--the beginning. It threw you off. Strained. Quite uncomfortable.
Searcrest asks Brooke why she started over?
Brooke: I lost the lyric. First time I've done that on this show.
Seacrest asks Simon what he would have done.
Simon:I would have done the same thing. (the audience cheers) Very brave thing to do actually. Why not? It's your time.
IMO, Brooke is acting like she wants to go home. This was a a very awkward 5 minutes of television.
Something about a 16 yr old singing a song as if he had the life experiences of a 40 yr old, just doesnt get the ole applause meter going for me.....Monchichi might do well as a dancing bear at Disney World
No, he’ll be great I’ll bet.
Enough about David Cook’s “originality” he was brazenly ripping off other peoples covers of songs and smugly taking the credit for his “vision”. Only when he was found out did the next week he credit the artist he was going to mimic because of the outcry.
As for his orange wristband, yes, that is something an egomaniac would do, I would bet it was well intentioned toward the child, not doubting that but would ANYONE not be nice to a kid with luekemia, geez, let’s give him credit for wiping his nose when he sneezes.
His self absorption was oozing before beg-a-thon week, when I saw that “give back” on his hand that was it, I could indulge his arrogance no more. Poser, poser, poser. /rant off
I held that in for a while, I feel better now, if you can believe it I like Archuleta even less, although I hold him less responsible because of the stories about his father.
How come Brooke and Kristy could remain nice and these 2 guys had to become megolomaniacs?
O. M. G.
“Written for a diva. Written for a girl.”
Perfect person to sing it.
LOL!!
“It’s a diva song. Written for a girl.” Even ALW looks like he wants to laugh at him.
That was lame letting the giggling girls on stage.
LOL
You guys are cracking me up! :)
