Producers also saw depressed ratings for their "Idol Gives Back" charity extravaganza, which this year aired as a stand-alone show with no competition-related material.Good. Serves 'em right. The AI concept is a talent show, not a beg-a-thon.

I hope Ive managed to change a couple of their performances, because a couple of them were dire. LOL! The guy is honest, at least. Besides, as I said on a previous post, Andrew Lloyd Weber favors sopranos and tenors whose voices are very theatrical and tend toward the upper octaves. Think Sara Brightman.
I also have to laugh that Weber suggested Carly stay away from doing 'All I Ask of You. He suggested she do the rock song 'Jesus Christ, Superstar.' In my post #4,305 to you, I suggested nearly the identical thing -- that most of this group should stick with the more pop/pop-rock selections.

Mariah Carey is a self-centered, hedonistic jerk. The world doesn’t need more like her, so I’m glad she doesn’t want a baby. If she votes, I have no doubt her candidate is Obama. :)

"But perhaps her greatest moment of diva madness came during a trip in 2005 when at 2am she refused to check in to her hotel until a red carpet and scented candles lined the entrance."
Can you imagine? By the way, how goes things?

Thanks for the spoilers, Red. I think there might be a couple of train wrecks in those selections. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but I don't think Jason Castro has the voice for 'Memory.'
Similarly, I'm not sure David C. has the voice for 'Phantom of the Opera.'
'Think of Me' was originally written for a high soprano voice, so I'm interested to hear what David A. will do with it.
'One Rock & Roll Too Many' is an odd choice, because it's a comedic novelty tune that was originally performed as an ensemble piece.
Brooke chose a song that should fit her well. It was sung by Madonna in the film version of Evita.
I think the best choice, assuming Carly can pull it off, is 'Jesus Christ Superstar,' and she didn't actually choose the song for herself.
Hearing in my head what I think these kids sound like with these songs, I can understand why Andrew Lloyd Weber said some of them were "dire."

Can you imagine? By the way, how goes things? Yep, I can imagine Carey behaving that way. I absolutely cannot stand anything about her, including her music, which tends to be just as over-the-top as her behavior.
Thanks for asking how things are going. Haven't found a job yet, unfortunately, but am hanging in there. :)

I don't object to them raising money, but it shouldn't intrude on the show. And it doesn't need a bunch of limosine liberals preaching at us to "dance until the money falls out of your pockets", like Gloria Estefan said.

You HAVE to take credit for it! At first when I read these threads, I thought you were just making a comment in French because in French it means something like my little sweetie, which also works for Archuleta! Then I saw your monchichi toy and I had to laugh.LOL!!!

It’s not the watching me while I sleep that scares me. He sort of looks like he’d wake you up and ask where you keep the scotch.
