Important... Get them in for shots right away. Particularly Parvovirus. Parvo is environmental, it’s everywhere, and it’s a very sad way to lose a couple of puppies.

Absolutely beautiful dogs!

I don’t know. Calling them Rocket and Potato might embarrass them in public. lol

I’m going with a golden lab and Samoyed mix. The nose on the second one looks like that of a Sammy, as well as the fuzzy fur and ears. The rest is all yellow lab.

They are apparently mixes....Golden retriever and....?
Since you're in Louisiana I would suspect the spotted appearance belie some Catahoula blood...they frequently display a piebald appearance, and are a breed originally developed, and most popular in Louisiana...

They've already won our hearts. It happened about 5 minutes after we saw them. When the kids first saw them I told them they weren't our dogs, they belonged to someone else. My GD said, 'If they wanted them why did they throw them away?'
She had me. They're ours now.

I've got a 14 month old 40 lb Scottish terrier / cocker spaniel mix crossed with a black lab / standard schnauzer mix (Nemo - a rescue dog the Misses just had to have)...that does the same type stuff, except he loves kids, loves water, snores when he sleeps, eats toilet paper off the roll and runs through the house with it, drinks Budweiser only, destroys our shoes sometimes, destroys all toys except his Frisbee and Kong within the hour, and seems to find stuff all over the neighborhood.....none of the neighbors claim it theirs....he goes into the woods a lot, up and along the streams...just rambles.
His legs aren't even 1/2 the height of his body only height , maybe a third......a little Popeye though and doesn't shed solid black curly hair that will grow 4-5 inches in 6 months.
He collects, deer bones, groundhog bones, rocks, sticks, beer cans, shoes, toys, and tools from somewhere.
No! He ain't spoiled rotten neither! (& I'm a lying, big time) LOL!!

Had one for 11 years very much like your new member. Bigger, shorter hair and gold eyes (Luke).

I haven’t read the whole thread so excuse me if I am addressing something you have talked about.
They are good looking dogs. the black spots are probbly Chow. My lab looks similar except black and he has the black spots from being a chow mix.
Have you thought that someone might be looking for them? If someone abandoned them, then God lead them to you and they are lucky to find your family. Maybe not let the kids get too attached in case the owners come looking for them, just in case they are lost.

Cuteus MaximusAre you pulling my leg or is that really a breed? For some reason my right leg feels like it's getting longer. They are cute.

Call them “Lo” and “Behold.”
Two of the best dogs Rob and I ever had, we gave those names. They were Rottie/St. Bernard mixes.

Do they fetch? If so they are retrievers. They will be 75 pounds with big feet.Just tried, they don't fetch. How old do they look to you?

Thank you.
They are already chewing the firewood we have on the porch. My girl got back and got them collars, flea, tick and mosquito drops, treats and anything else she could think of. They hit pay dirt when they found us. LOL
Spend a lot of time training them when they are young and it pays off later. Congratulations!
Will do, and thanks.
