Patriots win big, 41-10. I dislike the Pats but I cannot, in good conscience, root for an NFC East team, especially the Jersey Gints.

Probably sentiment more than wisdom, but I’ll take Giants 23, Patriots 21.

Brady will be driving them down for the winning score with under 2:00 to play, and loses the ball after being sacked. (Either that, or Moss drops a pass on a 4th down conversion attempt.)

Pats 38 Giants 28. I’d bet the over of 53 and a half. Stay away from picking either team to cover the spread, it’ll come down to the wire either way on the spread.

Tom Petty performing is actually a good omen for the giants. Back in 1987 Simms picked out some of his favorite videos for MTV during the superbowl week. And I believe one of the videos was for a Petty song.

I hope it’s a good game. What I think will happen is, the Giants will make it appear creditable during the first quarter or perhaps first half, then the Patriots will cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

Let’s hope so, anyway. Eventually, years from now, the Super Bowl will have to recycle the Wardrobe Malfunction crowd, or some rapper parolee / ex-con, because the rocker has-beens they’ve been getting won’t be able to get their wheelchairs up on stage.
