Ole James is going to get snookered again!
Liars have voted out other liars for seasons on end in this game.
You have to lie and remove people who would try to lie to you. That’s not hypocrisy. It’s good gameplay.
Same token, many great challenge threats have voted out other challenge threats to increase their chances.
I found a biography of Ami that says she does play for both teams.
I’m not touching that one . . .
I see that the “edge” she displayed in her original appearance has not gone away. Something about her — like, she wouldn’t hesitate to stick a knife in your back if you ever got between her and whatever she wanted. I think she’s scary as hell.
I don’t know who I’m pulling for at this point. I have more people that I don’t like than do. I still think Traci might be a gamer but they haven’t shown her much and she’s weak on allies. I’m hoping somebody will start to shine this week.
Oh, I agree. And these twits who say “I’m playing the game with honor and won’t sacrifice my integrity” are fooling themselves. This is a game of deception and trickery. What got me so warm was Cirie’s snotting at Jonathan for being a liar at tribal - did I miss something? Jonathan didn’t lie to her. He asked her to be in his alliance. It was absolutely stupid of her to ask him IN FRONT OF YAU-MAN if Jonathan would vote off Yau-Man before her. First of all, it’s a dumb thing to say at the beginning of the game. I really am not so much a Cirie fan this time around, and I was actually more excited to see her come back than I was just about anybody else. But I don’t know - I’m getting a vibe from her this time that I’m not fond of. Who knows, maybe she wins me back over.
And if she believes either Parvati or Amanda would take her to final 3 she’s not reasoning it out correctly. Parvati KNOWS people dislike her and her game play. Amanda - well, Amanda made final 3 her season and didn’t win, either. I can’t see either one of them bring a contestant who has a very warm, winning way and who has an initial burst of popularity on the other team as well. That is not someone you bring to final three and give the jury the option of giving the money to.
Ami would be the one I’d watch out for. I think she has potential to be a great strategist, although I don’t care much for her personally. Maybe it’s me - but have the faves perhaps gotten a little overconfident?
The one thing that made Cirie popular to many people (including me) was her successful plan to get rid of Courtney (the goat that everyone wanted to take to the Final 2) on the Exile Island season (Season 12). Most people hate seeing a dull Final 2 with one strong, likeable player and one goat who was just dragged along because he/she was easy to beat in the end (remember Tom/Katie from Palau?) So we have Cirie to thank for preventing that. But she doesn’t have much else going for her and with her attitude now, it’s getting harder to root for her.
Ami also appeared in 1996 issue of Playboy, years before her Survivor fame.
I was especially taken aback by her whole “why aren’t they doing more for me?” Yeah, that “carry me on the chariot” was over the top and most certainly intended as a joke, but I think she really believed she should be given food and tended to.
Her most ardent fans at Television Without Pity are completely turning on her. Granted, they love Jonathan too, and it was probably her turning on Jonathan that ticked them off. Like I said, the smartest thing she can do now is align with Jonathan and those guys - because goodness knows the couple alliance no longer needs her as a swing vote and putting yourself in that position can be dangerous. I think you’ll see her go with Jonathan and those guys this week - and I think Ami will own up to voting for her.
The Tom/Katie thing was also Burnett’s impetus to create a final 3 instead of a final 2 - I think even he was tired of the “one good player, one coattail rider” final 2, where there really wasn’t any suspense as to the outcome (I mean did any of us think Katie was going to beat Tom, especially after the jury went after her? Or that Lil was going to beat Sandra?)
Also, Danni (S11 winner) was runner-up in the 1996 Miss America pageant. Strange coincidence, huh?
Survivor isn’t American Idol or the first season of Big Brother. Cirie isnt playing to America (save for the pity award they hand out at the end of the season, which is totally manipulated by the edit Burnett gives the players).
I actually like Cirie’s motivation, here for a million bucks, not the experience, not to be another Rupert. Shouldn’t be surprising, really, Cirie’s just employing the same strategy as she did her season. Align with the young.
To show how worthless Katie was, she sat out of eight out of fourteen team challenges. That’s a Survivor record.
I wonder if Burnett will even give the pity award anymore (or as I call it “The Rupert Bonham Didn’t Win But MUST Get A Million Dollars Memorial Check”) after what’s-her-name lied like a rug at the reunion last year.
I realize that it isn’t a popularity contest among the viewers at home - I was merely pointing out that Cirie’s attitude and game play had lost her a lot of her supporters in the viewing audience. She was very strategic her first season and I really wanted her to win - she managed to fly under the radar and manipulate the game without the customary riding of coattails in such circumstances - not an easy thing to do. This time, though, she just seems to be more “in your face,” which may require some getting used to. Other than Dalton and Parvati, there isn’t a single favorite that I wouldn’t mind seeing win.
My other disappointment is Jonathan, who I loved in his season for the simple reason that he basically told the people who turned on him to shove it. (Okay, that and the blue eyes and the voice.) This time around, he, too, seems to be pushing the attitude envelope and that’s also annoying. I’m curious to see where Ami goes - she was none too popular “at home” in her season and this time she seems to be studying the landscape a little bit more.
I still like Cirie, please don’t get me wrong - and if she wins, I’d love it, especially since she is employing a strategy I can’t see working out for her in the long run (I don’t see the couples’ alliance letting her get any farther than 5th, despite assurances by Parvati and Amanda), but who the heck knows?
My real anger with her was her guilting Ian into giving up his rightful spot in the final 2 to her. She can’t possibly have thought she’d win over Tom. There was, as far as I can see, no suspense over the finale - I think Katie got what - ONE vote?
And contrast that with Earle - who I thought would be in a heated contest with Dreamz (sympathy factor) - and who was the first unanimous winner. I think Dreamz screwing over Yau-Man was the clincher for just about everybody.
FWIW, I dislike the voting being on the final three. The biggest decision a person can make is to win the final challenge and decide whom to take to the finals with you. Now that aspect of the game is gone.
I’m sure that came as a shock the first time they threw it out there.
I was talking to Survivor fan here at work and she espoused an interesting theory, and I’d like to throw it out there and ask fellow Survivor FRans what they think. She believes that Jonathan and Cirie actually are in an alliance and are staging all these fights to throw people off the scent; that they did want to get Yau-Man out (popularity factor) but had to play it cool. She also thinks Jonathan/Cirie have Parvati in the alliance as well.
It would certainly be the smart move - get what is quite probably the most popular Survivor ever (and who the “Fans” on the jury might vote for) and have him think the other side (i.e., couples alliance) did it. Yau doesn’t make the jury so he can’t ask either of them about it and the secret doesn’t come out until everyone’s munching popcorn and watching at home.
Convoluted, sure, but maybe Burnett would like to keep us guessing this time. I don’t know about you, but sooo many of the boots last year were telegraphed before TC that I ended up fast fowarding till the vote.
Greetings all.
Id like to thank everyone for their heartfelt wishes and prayers during the last 2 weeks. The loss of the wifes father took us both by surprise and knowing our fellow FReepers were there in spirit helped during this trying time. Again thank you everyone.
Id also like to thank JillValentine for stepping up and filling in for me during my absence. Jill, from what Ive read, you did an admirable job. Lets give her a big round of applause folks. Again, Jill, thank you very much.

The title for tonights episode is Thats Baked, Barbecued and Fried!
From the website:
An unexpected mastermind emerges when someone pits two power players against each other in a last-ditch effort to save a targeted ally.
And from a SeeBS press release:
After finding the hidden immunity idol on exile island, one clever castaway covers their tracks by creating a fake idol, on "SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA -- FANS VS. FAVORITES"
From the previews, here is what we can expect to see:
The Reward Challenge is titled Dunk and Dive and appears to take place in or under the water. One by one the tribe members have to dive down and push, poke and prod floating coconuts from one end of a very long cage to the other end. Once the coconut is at the end of the cage, it can be released to pop to the surface. Due to the length of the cage, the players will have to make multiple dives to get their coconut from one end to the other.
The Immunity Challenge is titled Crosswalk and appears to involve a race through the forest while tethered to a rope. Not much else to go on here so I have to resort to the SeeBS website clue. Tracy I think is the mastermind that pits Mikey B. against Joel in an attempt to save Chet from getting the boot. Therefore it looks as if the Favorites win this Immunity Challenge sending the Fans to Tribal Council.
Well, there you have it:
start highlighting here ->
Reward Challenge: Malakel (Favorites)
Immunity Challenge: Malakel (Favorites)
Removed from the game: Mikey B.
Ill be back Monday morning with a recap. So till then,
Take care,
FReepmail me if you want added to (or removed from) the Survivor Ping List.
I think the next couple of weeks will be a bit unsettled for the two tribes.
We’ll see.
Good to have you back, Cuz
Good to have you back and thanks for the compliments. I wonder who finds the hidden immunity idol.
And please, please, please let them show someone else finding the fake idol and trying to use it at tribal council.
I'm not saying this vidcap gives it away and I'm not saying it doesn't give it away. You'll just have to make up your own minds. :~D
