I was especially taken aback by her whole “why aren’t they doing more for me?” Yeah, that “carry me on the chariot” was over the top and most certainly intended as a joke, but I think she really believed she should be given food and tended to.
Her most ardent fans at Television Without Pity are completely turning on her. Granted, they love Jonathan too, and it was probably her turning on Jonathan that ticked them off. Like I said, the smartest thing she can do now is align with Jonathan and those guys - because goodness knows the couple alliance no longer needs her as a swing vote and putting yourself in that position can be dangerous. I think you’ll see her go with Jonathan and those guys this week - and I think Ami will own up to voting for her.
The Tom/Katie thing was also Burnett’s impetus to create a final 3 instead of a final 2 - I think even he was tired of the “one good player, one coattail rider” final 2, where there really wasn’t any suspense as to the outcome (I mean did any of us think Katie was going to beat Tom, especially after the jury went after her? Or that Lil was going to beat Sandra?)
Survivor isn’t American Idol or the first season of Big Brother. Cirie isnt playing to America (save for the pity award they hand out at the end of the season, which is totally manipulated by the edit Burnett gives the players).
I actually like Cirie’s motivation, here for a million bucks, not the experience, not to be another Rupert. Shouldn’t be surprising, really, Cirie’s just employing the same strategy as she did her season. Align with the young.
To show how worthless Katie was, she sat out of eight out of fourteen team challenges. That’s a Survivor record.
FWIW, I dislike the voting being on the final three. The biggest decision a person can make is to win the final challenge and decide whom to take to the finals with you. Now that aspect of the game is gone.
