“We’ve never had a mess like this,” said Duane Jones, who has managed the Wilson building in downtown Clinton for seven years.
He says he’s never encountered anything like what he found when the Clinton campaign moved out in early January.
“You could not walk through these rooms without piles of this literature, piles of that,” he described.
Jones says he found bags of garbage, a sink clogged with coffee grounds, and a large serving container full of chili, all left sitting for days.
“It stunk,” he said. “We ended up with two and a half dumpsters full of garbage.”
The young campaign staffers and volunteers also had holes drilled in the walls more than two inches in diameter, Jones says, to accomodate small telephone lines.
The office, which Jones rented to the campaign for $500 a month, was also missing a brand new smoke detector after the campaign left town. Jones says the staffers often left windows open all night long. The rent also included heat.
Jones also says the campaign left freshly cleaned carpets dirty and frayed.
“They had other bags of garbage. They had food stuffs, and that trickled down through the bags onto the carpet,” he said. “It’s dirty as the devil and I had a guy come up that said it will not come clean.”
I knew it. 2 1/2 dumpsters full of trash. I’m just surprised there weren’t more broken lamps (allegedly her weapon of choice against Bill).
Yeah, Josiah Crybaby got annoying very quickly. I was surprised they gave him a free pass last night.
Pretty decent talent pool this year. Lots of good singers. No one coming in as polished as Melinda (or even Lakisha) was last year, but in some ways that will make for a more interesting competition, I think. It’s more fun to see people with potential grow throughout the show than it is to see people start out at a high level and just remain there.
I think the Aussie guy will go far. He’s like Ace Young on testosterone and has a better voice, as well. The Archuleta kid should do well, too.
Of the girls, I’m still in the Kristy Lee Cook camp even though she didn’t seem to do well early in Hollywood. I expected her to go straight through on her first try. The girl who favors striped blouses and started the show last night(I think her name is Brooke White) is another I like but I don’t think she has the pure talent to actually win the thing. I liked the Irish girl better than I expected to. I’m still not really on board with the rocker nurse although I think she’s interesting and hope she makes it through—in the end I think she’ll be competing for the same votes as the Irish girl(who I think is a more talented singer.)

I kind of liked it better without the 'group' part. They will be doing group songs once they are in for the commercials and other things. To get in they should do it based on their own strength. It also prevents sabotages.
Although I think that Amy gal got sabotaged by the chick that was supposedly helping her, from season 4.
Nice thing about this season so far is that almost every contestant is fairly likeable. No one really obnoxious like last year's Skankarella and Sangaya. The only one that came close was the whiney beauty queen but she is history.

Uh oh... getting proxy errors already and the show hasn’t even started yet.
Only for Round 2. I think Seacrest said everbody that was left had to peform in Round 3. I could be wrong though.
