At my polling place this morning, a Ron Paul supporter tried to hand me a Constitution. I told him I was insulted. He asked why.
Being handed a copy of the Constitution is insulting? That’s stretching it.
Be careful. These Paul supporters might be wearing suicide vests.
In return, hand him a nicely crafted tinfoil hat.
He sounds like such a nut.
When I spoke for Fred at our Iowa caucus, I asked how many had read the Constitution in the last 6 months. I suppose I offended some people also.
If I had thought about it, I would have made copies to hand out. Why should you be offended? Take the copy and ask the Ron Paul supporter some questions or give it to someone else later in the day.
Are you really that easy to insult?
Let’s face it, the percentage of voters familiar with our Constitution is embarrassingly small.
Take the copy and give it to someone undeserving of it.
How did you ever fit it in your car on the ride back?
And of that percentage, the number who can cogently discuss it is even smaller.
A copy of the Constitution should not be an insult unless you are a liberal democrat. I would have taken it and then asked the whackjob some questions about it and then pointed out Article and Clause to show him where he was wrong. Then I would have thanked him, handed it back to him and said "it looks like you need to read this more than I do."
*Greg F dons flame retardant suit and stands ready to ignore the barrage*
Feeling insulted is the very thing we take The Other Side to task on.
You gonna sue him? :)
Why were you insulted? How was he supposed to know you were familiar with it?
I love my pocket Constitution. I refer to it all the time. You should have taken it.
“Being handed a copy of the Constitution is insulting? Thats stretching it.”
He was assuming I was unfamiliar with its content. He was wrong.
Given the positions of some of the major Republican contenders I wouldn’t think many people should barrage you. You’re absolutely right.
I just heard some of that. Mercy, he rambles on and on...
How did you know he was a Ron Paul supporter? Is electioneering at the polls illegal?
So if Fred Thompson gave you a pamphlet with his positions would you consider that insulting even if you knew his positions? I wouldn’t.
Laura tried to say he says that America caused 9/11, he said not citizens like me and you, but American policies. Don’t Freepers say the Clinton administration was at fault? They agree with him.
She would try to corner him on an issue, he would give his answer (which would usually sound pretty logical) then she would move on quickly to try to corner him on another issue. But he just ducked and weaved and made Laura sound kind of like an angry hater.
The worst was she made tried to corner him on something and he said “You made my point for me” because she didn’t even know what he was for and she found out they agreed. Of course she quickly changed the subject.
