Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Uh, yeah. Exactly.
Well, it could be worse, I s’pose. At least there are a few bumps and ridges to look at in Nebraska...unlike certain other states.
And you wouldn’t be doing the drive with two cats in the car like I did. Then again, they helped relieve the monotony a bit.
I’m maybe going to go back to the car dealership tonight to look again at Hyundais. Hyundai’s? Whichever is proper.
I wonder, almost, if it’d be worth doing a 60 month dealie instead of 36 or 48. I could *maybe* even afford a new one that way. But 60 months is an awfully long time.
The Hyundais is where the muckety-mucks sit at the annual banquet.
As for the 60-month loan...why not? If you’re getting a new car and plan to keep it for at least five years it’s ~not that long~.
Hey, it’s a s big as you think.
:)
Meaning Kansas?
So you picked up on what I was getting at with my “Nebraska isn’t quite as boring as...” statement. ;-)
Well, not really driving any of Nebraska since Omaha is just barely in Nebraska but the drive is boring enough.
I had a 60 month loan on my car. Very reasonable and we ended up paying it off a year early.
I’m just having a hard time accepting the fact that you’ve had that car for four years. I remember when you bought it...and the accompanying red dress...
In thinking back, I actually had a 60 month loan for the Corolla...but the payments were less than a new car would be, and I paid it off quite a bit early. So it didn’t seem that long. The hail storm that did $2000 worth of damage helped, too...
Considering I only put about 10k on a vehicle in a heavy driving year, after five years, I could still potentially drive whatever I get for another five or even ten. In contrast, the van already had 80k on it when I bought it, much of that in New England winters.
So there’s that.
Yeah, 60 months is a while, but if it means you could get a NEW car, then that means new car warranty, and a measure of peace of mind for a while. Keep a lookout for deals where they’re offering extra warranty time or something like that, when you buy new.
Glad cell phone is found... How’d they know your email address?
I had a horrible night, though, before the physical. I started getting stuffy sinuses last night, and just before I went to bed, I was feeling a little woozy. I also felt warm so I took my temp, and it was 99.8. I started getting chills so bad I could hardly walk to the bathroom, so I wrapped up nice and warm in bed and put a heating pad on my feet. I didn't think I was supposed to drink water, because I had to fast for the bloodwork, but I cheated about 1:15am, because my temp had gone up to 100.2, and I took a Tylenol extended release with a glass of water. At that point I was burning up under all the covers so I kicked of the two warmest. Turns out, I have a sinus infection, so the PA wrote me a scrip for Amoxil, 3 times a day.
After my physical, we went to take SirKit for a flouroscopy to see what was up with his right hemi-diaphragm. Turns out, his phrenic nerve is 'gonzo' according to the radiologist. It's about 90% not functioning, and even wierder, when they looked at SirKit breathing, they noticed that the left diaphragm went down like it's supposed to when you breath in, but his right one came UP! Strange that. We decided we are both just bent, and that's that. ;o) Now he's going to go to a neurologist to see what's up with the nerve, and why it's not functioning. Could be a tumor, could be the back adventure back in 2001 messed it up somehow.
Anyway, it was 1pm by the time we got my amoxil, but I'm still taking three today! I met some friends for lunch, and just got home, so now I'm just pooped, and I'm gonna take another amoxil and take a nap!
I’d given it to ‘em. Turned out to be a good thing.
I still feel like a doofus.
Oh - so it was picked up by someone you know? Not just in a parking lot?
She’s a awfully pretty little fuzzball...
Yeah...I set it on the pianer. ;-)
The last place I remembered holding it was in the car, so I was afraid I’d just dropped it when opening the door or something. Could have been much worse, for sure.
She’s too glamorous for this place, that’s for sure ;~)
Good about the cell phone. I thought a stranger found it, and that you must have had your email addy on it somewhere, which I thought, was a pretty smart idea :~)
It probably *is* a good idea to put an e-mail address on it somewhere, huh? ‘Cause it’s not like anyone could call me if I lose it again...
I’d rather just not lose it, but that’s not a bad idea.
