Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I have a feeling it’d be worth watching a lot of episodes again at this point.
I’d like to see Claire’s first flashback episode again, for one. Or was it the second?
It’s all a mishmash.
Ugh...I slept through my alarm. Luckily I still have time to get ready for work. But for a few contented seconds I thought, “It’s Saturday, isn’t it?! Or...wait...is it Sunday? Oh...wait. Dang.”
I don't think so...
Ah...I think you’re right. But the clothing is vey similar.
Tricksey they are.
Weather weenies here are saying “first part of the weekend is a wash”...I was gonna finish clearing the backyard (No Christmas Show ‘08 Reason #’s 7, 26, and 83). But it looks like we’re doing inside stuff yet again.
I’ve got all the toys we sorted out for the toy and clothing sale. We’re limited to 200 items we can consign. We got there with clothing and books, so the toys have to wait until fall. Just have to finish sorting and re-hide them from Luke.
We had cleaners in yesterday. The house looks so much better. Got to get a couple pictures hung and more effort on the de-cluttering.
Heh...I keep telling the Mrs. we’ll do that as soon as we clear out the clutter. We’re ~almost~ there.
I was telling Talon the same thing... he pointed out to me that they could clean a lot around the clutter and we desperately needed someone to come in and get things clean for us.
He was right.
Yeah, I understand that. But we really did need to clean out our room (and Nana’s room) first.
Heh...I *did* manage to get lost when test driving last time. It ended up being about a half-hour, twenty mile test drive. And I was in a car I absolutely hated, to boot - just wanted to get back!
I figured as much—I was just feeling old and cranky this morning, dang barometric pressure. The weatherweenies did not predict this snow until it was coming down. My back could have told ‘em we were going to have some precip.
Are you really needing a hip replacement, or are you just looking for some “me time”? Trust me, hip replacements are no fun. Especially the part where they say “Have you bent your knee yet?” and “you might want to” before the doctor comes in and “moves it for you”. Ouch.
I had to take 435 over to State Line Road, and people were driving way too fast for conditions. Visibility was really bad going over there, but coming back, the snow was all gone and the road was only slightly wet. We only got about 1/8 inch so I was able to just sweep it off the porch. Did you get more?
My Dad is likely going in for a hip replacement later this year. I’m already fretting about it...hoping he behaves and does as he’s told! ;-)
I wish I was closer sometimes. At least my sister will be around to drive him for awhile.
Oh I dunno if I really need a hip replacement. I don’t think I do ~yet~. I just ache this morning. Agreed on the dang barometric pressure.
I really don’t have any problems that couldn’t be greatly improved by losing 5-600 lbs and by being about 40 years younger...
I’m sorry about your dad needing a hip replacement, and it is no fun, but he’ll be better than new when he’s healed up. The key is “doing what the doctors and physical therapists tell him to do”.
Yeah...that’s what I’m afraid of. :-\
He hasn’t talked to the ortho people or anything yet - just has been told it should be done. He’s putting it off so far. I think I come by that trait honestly. ;-)
To be fair, though, I don’t think I’d want to go through that in the winter there. Icy conditions are treacherous enough as it is. And it’d be hard to do much walking during recovery until the roads are clear to walk! They live far away from any sidewalks or other such things.
Here at werk, you can see patches of it through the grass and none of the cars need snow brushed off. It’s still flurrying.
My first ~unscheduled~ hip surgery was in early February. The other two, which I had control over, were done in late spring. He’s wise not having it done in the winter!
When he goes in to have it done, the docs will give him plenty of do’s and dont’s. Most important is keeping those dang compression hose on until you are on your feet more than you are off ‘em (they prevent blood clots).
And you shall... Lost Timeline
It appears they stopped keeping it up to date after season 2, but it's still interesting.
Cold and clear here. Guess the storm is all south of us.
