The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Even in the spring, a few hours here and there might be kinda fun, though! So it’s not a thought without merit.

Years ago we talked about opening a Bed and Breakfast. It was intriguing until we thought about the fact that we’d actually have to live there as well...

I’m glad you didn’t have to travel in that sleet, even if it does mean you have to work from home. ;o)

There’s also a couple of used bookstores, hobby stores, and a gaming store already around, so it’s not exactly a pressing need. Plus, I’m hoping to be much too busy in the next couple decades to run a business like that.

Like Rosie said, it’s sort of a later in life sort of dream.

Heh...exactly. And even if it’s not an all-day sort of job, it still means being tied down.

I’ve decided my ideal business would be to run one of them touristy junk shops at the beach. Then I could be closed most of the winter.

Last time we were at thebeach we gave serious consideration to the concept of opening a seasonal dinner theater. But then it just made me tired.

Honestly I have no ambition to get a job that would require panty hose.

I can understand that one! If you're just looking for part-time, see if there's something that you'd REALLY like to do. You'd likely enjoy the feed-store. You probably know a lot about the products, since you spend time there getting stuff for the critters. Ditto the vet.

Those Lovely Farmer’s Daughters

A farmer had 3 beautiful daughters who were getting ready to go out on dates.

The first beau came to the door and said, ‘’I’m Eddie, I’m here to pick up Betty. We’re going for spaghetti, is she ready?’’

“No,” the farmer said.

The second beau came to the door and said, ‘’I’m Joe, I’m here to pick up Flo to take her to the show. Is she ready to go?’’

“No.”

The third beau came to the door and said to the farmer. ‘’Hello, my name is Chuck.’’

The farmer shot Chuck.

Wondering what the third daughter’s name should have been.

*snort*

That’s just wrong...

Though...I can’t think of a girl’s name that ends in “uck”, either.

You getting ice accumulations?

That stuff’s awful.

I’m home. All tests were good...I did great on my treadmill test...hardly broke a sweat even when I was running.

BP went down when they took it immediately after the treadmill test. Doc said “That’s odd.”

Heh heh...leave it to me, I guess.

I’m on two bp meds now. Don’t know what the bp is right now though...feeling kinda gorked from exhaustion. I hardly got any sleep...some poor soul moaned loudly all night long.
