IBBLE, Okla. -- Some "goats gone wild" are the talk of a small Oklahoma town.
A woman received two tickets after her goats were caught mating and relieving themselves on her own yard. City law said it is illegal for any two animals to have sex in public within Dibble city limits.
It's also against law for them to relieve themselves in public even if the animal is fenced in on private land.
The owner was shocked when she heard the charges.
I kind of thought if anyone was caught having sex in public, it could have been me, Carol Medenhall said.
The woman fought the tickets and won partially because she didn't know she lived within city limits.
Her land was recently annexed by the city, located south of Oklahoma City, but she claims no one told her.
And after her quote in this article, it seems entirely possible she already has.
Dibble, OK
Population (year 2000): 289.

They could use a law against jackasses braying in public.
We live in an area that was annexed before we bought it, but was still a small farming community.
Now that builders and the new city fathers have turned it into a bedroom community, we have been called to remove horse deposits from streets and culverts from riding around the same roads we always have.
Just another NIMBY attitude from the newly arrived.
Not until afterwards.
“Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But, really, what’s the world coming to when two goats aren’t legally allowed to do their business in their own yard?”
So its not ok for animal to mate and defecate in public but its ok for the homosexual people to do it.
So, if it’s against the law for two animals to mate within city limits...
...why didn’t the police arrest the goats? Then put them on trial?
:-P
Oh come on.
“Dibble, OK”
Dribble, anyone?
The Nanny state doesn’t want anything natural to happen. The goats should have asked permission.
Forcing your parents to sell the cattle is probably in someone’s plan. No cattle = no need for the acreage. So here comes the developer to relieve tham of their problem, what to do with all that uned land.
It happened to friends of ours in Alpharetta Ga. They had a heads up because when they visited a new development in their area to see what was being built and what the future [plans were, the agent showed them a map of the plans they had for the future. One area of that map was our friends and ther parents 50 acres. lol Our friends very innocently ;) asked about that area on the map and the projected housing development on it. The sales agent said “we don’t own all the land yet but we will”. Our friends had the advantage when the developer later came calling. lol
Animals have sex? In public? Who knew?
I thought it was just people on TV, in the movies, in the so-called “romance” books. Do suppose that small town that outlawed animals having sex in public will outlaw TV, movies, and raunchy books?
Ping for your move to OK. I think you will fit in nicely in Ibble.
289 Dibblians.
I think I have that book. Can’t remember...Jonathon Swift or Charles Dickens?
LOL!
And I thought Oklahoma was a sane refuge from the nanny state BS such as we find out here in Calif.
Don’t let your children be exposed to the world! The Horror!
Another place in which I am pathetically grateful not to live.
No, if the goats had been smoking, the glorious Dibble police and new self righteous residents would have arrested the goats and taken them to “Animal Control” to be incarcerated for the dangerous crimes of smoking, endangering "the children", polluting the precious environment and causing "global warming".
I guess I forgot. We have the Socialist Nanny State and the Fundamentalist Nanny State. With liberty dying between them.
