You're probably right that most of us don't fully understand it.
But a posting that they could skip over might not hurt. I doubt you'd get a negative reaction on the order of "I Like Fred!" on a pro-Hillary thread.
But then, I am gone for the night.

I’m not funny; I’m French—and don’t ever confuse the two! ;)

Ceres Central. Home of the Zero Gee amusement park and the largest shopping mall in the solar system. Schrödinger runs a corner drug store/bath house.
Aha! So old Erwin is still alive and kicking--albeit with the aid of robotics and multiple prosthetics.
Perhaps he could fill my prescription for Ritalin.
Prithee, does this corner drug store also function as a post-war malt shop? I could really go for a root beer float in about two or three light years.

You have to call it "Zeus" now, since Pat and the Hellenists have moved there.
Oh, great! We just voted on renaming it "Steve's Milky Way Hookup Shack for Silicon-Based Life Forms," but then you have to come and play Dr. Buzzkill. ;)
All right, we'll call it "Zeus"--but a lot of people, and genetically similar interstellar travelers, may come expecting to see an exhibition of the planet formerly named SMWHSSBLF's flora and fauna.
On the plus side, we might be able to sell "I Traveled Across Nine Star Systems and All I Got Was This Poorly Made Venutian T-Shirt" T-shirts (and perhaps, sweatshirts) to the disappointed tourists. Not to mention other Jovian kitsch souvenirs.
Think about it.

I got a very nice K-shirt.
Too bad I don’t have the extra arms to make it look right on me.

I'm glad I kept my receipt for this four-pack of F-shirts. What was I thinking?
To: sionnsar
Nope. Had to go for dinner & watch a video with LoM -- with the woodstove going.
Funny, I love the old cast iron wood stoves from the last century--much more than California Raisins, I'll have you know. ;)

Good morning! It’s raining on my pointed head, which is as rare as six-armed t-shirts in these parts.

Recombinant gene therapy and a few cloned parts actually. Although, there is a rumor going around about that goofy grin on his wifes face and it's connection to her pet name for him: Snap-on.
Ritalin? Ye' Gods... what are you trying to do? Kill yourself? Buy a pound of Father Francis' Finest, roll up a zepplin, and relax under the shade trees.
Malt shop. Catalog order store. Five and Dime. They even stock most of the major calibers of ammo... Gotta keep up with customer demand after all...

Even from the ground, you're not seeing Michigan unless you
really travel the whole state. I've lived here all of my life, and I am still amazed at the state's geographic diversity.
I grew up in Oakland County, in Rochester Hills, before it became a giant strip mall. I thought all of Michigan was like that area--rolling hills, an occasional creek, lakes and ponds all over the place, a city here or there. We vacationed up in Leelanau every summer, which is much the same--only the hills are bigger.
Mid-Michigan is totally different...hardly any hills at all. Total bread-basket. Ten minutes north of Lansing and you hit farmland as far as the eye can see. Not many lakes in this area, and those which we have are often man-made. We do have some great rivers around here, though, including the beautiful (and occasionally mighty) Grand. I've gotten used to being around rivers and farmland, as opposed to lakes and hills, in the nearly twenty years since we moved to Lansing. Again, I was thinking, this is all Michigan is--hills to the north and south, farms in the middle. Nothing prepared me for the alien landscape that is the Upper Peninsula, which I visited for the very first time this past summer.
That's a whole thread in itself!

BTW--a good friend of mine moved out to Oregon about fifteen years ago. She only makes it back to the mitten once a decade. Every few years, her dad sends her a care package with, among other things--Vernor's.
Like I said, I've lived here all my life. What are some other Michigan staples that other states lack? Besides Canadian governors, I mean.

French? Funny.
Your accent sounds ~~ um ~~ oriental.
Maybe it’s the way you squint when you say certain ~~ things to me.

We had lots of wind last night. Not enough to shake the house or blow off any shingles, but still....I was glad when it quit.
No rain in sight. Just lots of wind.

I’ve been to Wisconsin and Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, ..well, lots of states with the same types of topogragraphy.
Though I find it all very beautiful and diverse (and often surprising) the climate of the Midwest is not good for me, so I only visit. And admire the people who like the snow well enough to stay!
And I know what you mean about a “whole thread.” The West is like that.

Snow, bitter temps, weeks without sunshine...definitely an acquired taste!
I was nineteen when I took my longest-yet driving excursion: Michigan to DC; DC to Los Angeles, taking a north-central route, then LA back to MI on a south-central route. Most of what I saw was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I had time constraints. I needed to be in LA for a christening, so I did the DC to LA leg in just three days. Then, I had to be back in MI for school, so the trip home was four days long.
I can't wait until my kids are a bit older. I want to make an entire summer out of it. For now, we're all content to keep discovering parts of Michigan we've never seen before.
