AccuScore has run more than 10,000 simulations for every World Series game for Yahoo! Sports, calculating how each team's performance changes in response to game conditions, opponent's abilities, roster moves, weather and more. Each game is simulated one play at a time and the game is replayed a minimum of 10,000 times to generate forecasted winning percentages, player statistics and a variety of game-changing scenarios.

Boston winning 66.8 percent of World Series simulations

AccuScore simulates each playoff game and the entire playoff series 10,000 times. This season, the team that has won over 50 percent of series simulations won their series with one exception: New York won 51 percent of simulations over Cleveland. AccuScore correctly projected Colorado to upset both Philadelphia and Arizona, but in simulations vs. Boston, the Red Sox ride home-field advantage and the dominant pitching of Josh Beckett to win 66.8 percent of series simulations.

The forecast below is based on the designated starters and was run on data available as of October 23. AccuScore's proprietary algorithm weights each game's data, and as each game is played the simulation winning percentages will change. The simulation winning percentages also will change if the projected starters change.

Game 1 Francis vs. Beckett 31.2% 68.8%

McCarver is such in idiot. First of all the rank insignia they showed was not a sergeant major...it was first sergeant insignia. Second, the sergeant major is not even in the chain of command. He is the senior enlisted adviser to the commander. The catcher is more akin to a first sergeant although I think he is more of a captain personally.

I wish I could sync the radio broadcast with the TV broadcast. Then I’d gladly mute the television. Orsillo and Remy have it all over these clowns.

If you have Tivo, you can sync with the radio. Just hit pause for a few seconds and then hit play.

Orsillo and Remy have it all over any broadcast team I have ever listed too. They don’t spend the whole game trying to tell you how to play the game as if you are an idiot. You should hear the Oreo broadcasters here in Maryland..especially Jim Palmer. They drive me nuts.

Great idea on the TIVO, but, alas, I don’t have it yet.

Joe Castig is great, but I miss him paired with Jerry Trupiano. They were the best for the 04 WS.

McCarver just said Biggio's HOF credentials are "arguable". Yeah, Tim, 3000 hits/600 doubles are arguable. If you say so.

....only player in major league history to have at least 600 doubles (658), 250 home runs (286), 3000 hits (LOCK for HOF) and 400 stolen bases (413)....

What the H is Timmy talking about? Jealous because he didn't make it?

Palmer is dry as toast but at least he talks about the technical side of the game and I like that. Not for everyone I realize. OTOH, Remy and Orsillo talk about a lot of stuff having nothing to do with the game on the field and God forbid they tell it like it is. They are enjoyable but I wish they would offer some more insider stuff.

Dice-K just had a much better AB then Tek who fouled off two balls well outside the zone to start his AB.

I just noted a blooper in that commercial where the cops show up at the bank after the robbery. As the cops run into the bank and the robbers drive away, there is a bunch of cash on the ground. When the cops come running out a few seconds later, there is no cash on the ground at all.

See I can’t stand that. When announcers talk technical they always talk as if the listener is an idiot who knows nothing about the game. Makes my skin crawl.

...and I really enjoy the humor that Remy and Don bring to the game. They have a great time and it makes the games fun. Bottom line...they are not anal.

Okay, this is going to be a very important time in the game. Lead off hitter reaches after Dice-K throws 44 pitches his last 2 inning.

CF hits a deep fly to left for out 1.

He needs to get some quicker outs.

The basics are one thing but he knows pitching mechanics and I like understanding certain details.

Okay, two hits this inning with base runners and 1 out. I see nothing good happening for Dice-K right now.

One of the great moments this past season with Don and Jerry was just after a ‘man in the street’ interview with a guy whose combover was flapping around in the wind. When they cut back to the game, there was silence for a long time, then you could hear restrained snickering. Finally, Don said, “Sometimes it’s windy!” and the two of them erupted in hysterics.

I was doing the same at home.
