I’m up..back to my night owl habits..My little once lame raccoon came tonight for the first time in days..He walks toward me and backs up but has gotten so used to me..I thought now that his leg is well that he had taken off..I stood about 2 feet from him as he ate.
Sounds cool. And as you allow him room to escape if he feels threatened, he will be more accepting of your presence. I once had a ‘pet’ skunk as a kid, it would even come in the barn while I was milking, and I’d put a bit of milk in an old hubcap and it would drink from it as long as I was several feet away from it. It never spooked the cows, and it would leave after it had its fresh milk. It came and went as it liked, and never was a problem. I always kept in mind that it was a wild animal and gave the respect due it. It was a sort of two worlds meeting as it were, and special for that.
Coffee, coffee, that awesome brew
it wakes me up, revs me, up oh it do
the smell sure to make me rise from my bed
if only to get the first cup for a deadhead
perhaps with a bagel and a spot of cream cheese
a wake up that’s too good at which to sneeze
pour me a cup and another to go
let the caffeine freely to flow
Jive me up baby at least eight to the bar
and another full cup on the way to the car
the day needs a boost to get it to go
and coffee is the only thing good I know
WAKE UP you sleepy heads! I’ve been up since 5 AM!
breakfast is on the table;
Sour dough pancakes as light as a cloud, they’ll do
real rich warmed maple syrup, and preserves to delight
bright sunny butter whipped fresh and sweet new cream
the coffee’s hot and the fresh milk chilled just right
with bacon hot and smoky, and sizzling sausage links too
Toasted English muffins and toast for the choosy few
eggs as you like them, over easy for me what about you
get up this is not a lazy man’s hunger driven dream
its time for you pull up a chair, there’s eating to do
I’m a happy old cook and I’ll make some for you too!

the morning is brisk, I slept like a babe
I’ll have some home fried taters, and sauage
and cakes, with tons of coffee,
for Pete’s Sake!

Hi Ma, cute card! You freezing up there?? We had a cool down last night, we went from 80F yesterday to, below 50 last night. Going into the high 60s today. Really a nice Fall day today. *HUGS*
Good morning MEG33. WayzataJOHNN has nailed it on the head. Hope that all is well. Today we are having rain. We need it but not the crazy driving antics of some folks. They tend to speed up when it rains.
