I always go to Psalm 112, especially when anticipating something as serious as surgery. Maybe it will help you as well:

Heart operations such as Triple-Bypass have become so routine and successful in the past 30 years that its almost as simple as installing new vacuum hoses in yer car!

My Dad (82 years old) went in for an Aortic-Valve replacement 3 years ago and it went so well that he was out of the hospital in less than 2 weeks, he was up on his feet and active after about 6 weeks of recovery!
