[ Please note, I'm posting this as a commentary on our increasingly decadent culture and the either impossible or undesirable goals it sets for our young women. ]
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Somewhere, Kevin Federline is laughing. An out-of-shape, out-of-touch Britney Spears delivered what was destined to be the most talked-about performance of the MTV Video Music Awards -- but for all the wrong reasons....
She walked through her dance moves with little enthusiasm. It appeared she had forgotten the entire art of lip-synching. And, perhaps most unforgivable given her once-taut frame, she looked embarrassingly out of shape....

I really don’t care what a singer looks like, so this woman can be in any sort of shape. I do care that a nation of feral dolts makes this sort of idiocy lucrative.

Spot on. What is the sexiness in a skeleton? Funny thing is, I once told a girlfriend this (that bones ain’t sexy or appealing), but she thought I was just being nice and not calling her “fat.” I am not dating her any longer.

He likes her. I was shocked.

I think she has a drug/alcohol problem or has so form of mental disorder. something happened to her and some mental disorders don’t develop until later years for women. She doesn’t seem like the same person. On stage she didn’t look “with it” at all, more like a zombie.
All of the above. How about, she hasn't had 5 minutes of "normal" life in over 10 years? I feel bad for her, until I remember that she's got more money than about 10,000 of me, and can afford to be a zombie.
Exactamundo! For men, there is liking thin women and then there is getting hot at the anatomy class skeleton. Seems like there are too many who are in the anatomy class skeleton end of the pool. Good example is the continued interest in Angelina Jolie. She wasn't chosen to be the real-life version of Lara Croft because the game is called Lara Croft—Anorexic Adventurer!, yet guys are still panting after her. Ditto for other size zeros like Kate Bosworth and Jessica Alba, to name a few.
Women are too often tragically chasing after something other than how their own bodies look best whether it be the Hollyweird emaciated zeros or simply the sharp woman who lives down the street with the totally opposite body type. I understand some of the frustration is clothing styles skewed toward the size zeros, but a lot of it is not working with what they've got. For these women, the philosophy should be: "If you've got it, flaunt it!" not "Ignore what you've got, and try to make yourself look like her. Or her. Anyone but yourself."
Of course, in acknowledging something positive about themselves, women run the risk of appearing conceited which is the worst thing possible because since they were in grade school, girls have wielded conceited as the most vicious of weapons against each other. Many of them have been conditioned by that brutality not to assert things about themselves lest they be branded with the dreaded conceited epithet. It's far easier and safer to say, "I hate how I look. I'm going to bleach my hair blond and try to wear something ill-suited for my body." than "I've got a great set of thighs, I'm going to accent them."
As healthy heterosexual males, we can actually be quite helpful in changing this by encouraging women to be themselves, and by not panting after the zeros, especially the bleached blond zeros. Then it's up to the healthy heterosexual females to be themselves, reject the gay designer teenage boy fashions, and stop worrying about Little Tiffany from biology class screaming "Conceited!" on the playground.

She's doubtless hell on wheels in person; but from a distance, she, like many deeply psychotic beautiful women, can be quite alluring.

Apparently Jamie Foxx made a complete ass out himself last night. They said Jennifer Garner didn't look like she wanted to be anywhere near him (they were presenters).
I agree, she looks pretty good. But she doesn’t look good enough to be out parading around in her underwear. But very, very few people look that good.
Besides, her legs are too short. There is nothing she can do about that.
Britney missed a huge opportunity here. She could have come out on stage in a frilly white dress and sung some nice heart-felt ballads, and kick-started an entirely new phase to her career. She is simply not going to be able to run on the slut-track anymore. This should be good news to her, but she keeps denying it.
Maybe she could have gone for the Faith Hill semi-slut look. She could have pulled that off. But underwear and fishnets should be a thing of her past.
Perez Hilton destroyed Spears on his site...brutal is a kind word for what he said.
