Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Evening G’nad - glad to hear it’s just rain in StL and all’s quiet on the eastern front.
Corin - you got to remember G’nad likes Kim-Chee.
Evening - the weatherweenies just said ‘Ice is completely out of the picture’. Now does that mean it really is or should we all commence worrying..
Hi folks! Seeing all of you discussing the weather reminds me why I moved to Florida (High 83, low 60). It will cool off to a 40 to 70 degree range on Sunday.
Since I’m from Mew York, I have no accent — the opinion of everyone I speak to notwithstanding!
In 2000, 1996 and 1992 I got into a funk about the GOP nomination process about this point in the campaign, and did not get energized until the conventions. Beginning to look like it’s going to be the same thing again!
Hope everybody is feeling better — this time last year I was in the hospital getting rid of surplus legs and suchlike!
Mew = New
I think we’re good. A couple inches of stuff here but nothing too awful. One enormous branch still on the roof until it’s thawed and we can get up there with a chainsaw. One branch pulled off the roof, three or four more down in the yard. No property damage.
Well it's a good thing you don't have to do THAT again! ;o)
Our daughter flies in from S. FL this weekend. She'll get her fill of winter over Christmas, and head back the middle of January. I think she's looking forward to seeing some snow, but she's happy she doesn't have to live in it all winter.
Glad to hear you all are okay up there. Firewood storage on the roof isn’t one we’ve heard before. :-)
I’d avoid the roof unless absolutely necessary.
Down to 40 ?!? Be sure to take your coat and hat. :-)
We’ve rarely been bothered by snow, it’s the freakin’ ice storms that precede it..grumble.
Yeah, we’re going to wait until things thaw.
Tonight I’ve been stripping ugly wallpaper border from the top of the kitchen walls. Getting ready for the repaint project. My arms are sore.
Evenin’ folkses!!
I hope all of y’all have yer battens hatched down. :-)

Today was New Gun Tuesday!!
Been looking for a while for a more carry-able .45. Finally took the plunge today and decided on the Kimber Ultra RCP II. Had to order it. Should be here in a week or so.
I’m really jazzed about it. I’d post a pic but I’m freepin on my phone.
Oh dang... well, I guess we have to take that present back...
Naughty shopping for toys so close toe Christmas... ;~)
toe Christmas?
Forget about the ****ing toe!
Stephen’s gonna be home over Christmas, too. Wish I could be there!
I kinda miss series cold. At least once in a great while.
Heh...
