The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

It's better than the rain that will come next.
Pony seems to like it OK.

Bay seems in a foul humor about it and seems to be blaming it on Cyn...
To: HairOfTheDog
Pony does appear happy; nice snow, hope the wind stays away.

A beautiful musical tribute to Fellowship of the Ring.

Evening - Kinda funny weather, south winds, 50 degrees, wet (got a half inch or so). December 1st, odd indeed, but I ain’t knockin’ the temperature.
We’re going to wander downtown in a bit. New Italian place has opened across from the train station. Thought we’d give it a try.
How did the soup makin’ and ammo makin’ sessions go?
To: Lil'freeper
I got one more page, and will keep going.

Still, it was instructive to see the high-speed video of what nails, grapeshot, or a length of chain does to a hog carcass. shweet...

Yes, I wish they had covered the whole trilogy. Weird how the lyrics from Going Home, (Gods & Generals) fits so well into the tribute.

The soup is simmerin’ now. Should be ready in a half hour or so.
To: g'nad
Yeah, it’s now three or so inches and freezing rain. We cancelled our evening plans (D&D game) and will probably be going to church in town rather than the one miles away.

I love the pony shot. ;-)
Halvah is in a mood today, for some reason...realllly cranky. She’s been smacking Tam if he tries to play with her and has whacked Cisco twice for getting involved, too. She seems happy enough with me, so I dunno what her major malfunction is.
It means Tam is being intolerable ‘cause he wants someone to play with. Ungh.
