The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

| What Your Pizza Reveals |
People may tell you that you have a small appetite... but you aren't under eating. You just aren't a pig.
You aren't particularly picky about pizza. It's so good... how could you be? You fit in best in the Western part of the US.
Your taste in food tends to favor what's rich and comforting. You prefer food that will definitely satisfy you.
You are dependable, loyal, and conservative with your choices.
You are definitely unique and artistically inclined. You should consider traveling to Prague.
The stereotype that best fits you is emo. You think you're special... and you kind of are. |
Prague? Emo???
To: RosieCotton
Prague? Emo???Heh. I wonder what these people put on their pizzas.

What I’d like to learn to do is knit. I know how to crochet; learned in 1972 from my Aunt Gertrude while we were up in RI on vacation. I have a homeschooling friend who knits, so I’ll try to learn before we leave here.

Ah, finally making progress on finishing that degree I started out in Colorado :) Got signed up for a class, mostly... one next spring and I’ll have it...
Mom stopped cross-stitching ages ago, it hurt her eyes and she likes quilting better.

Yup, "Erin" is expected to go south of us, but the weather weenies are still predicting 3" or so of rain here. Since the ground is already saturated from the rain we got through July, there will probably be some flash flooding.
We're on high ground though, so we'll be ok.

Paris my @$$Don't get angry, that city changes randomly each time you take the test. If you answer it exacty the same way every time, all the other results stay the same, but a different city name is inserted.

I got Prague both times I tried it.
I dunno what that means. ;-)
To: JenB
I just mean you’re goin’ all crafty like your Mom. ;-)
I’d like to learn to do quilting someday. As if I need more hobbies...
To: RosieCotton
Talon is doing some model building so I needed crafty stuff. :)

OB had a night meeting. He just called, will be home in about 45 minutes. So much for short meetings (sigh).
I had one night meeting that lasted until 4:00 a.m. Totally ridiculous, no one made any sense after about 1:00 in the morning, but there was a real power play going on, who was going to call “uncle” first, the applicant or the elected officials. Can’t remember who did, come to think of it.

Swiped from another thread: why the Second Amendment obviously excludes ordinary citizens, who could never be trained to this level of professionalism.

And yes, it looks like he also has his finger on the trigger.
