Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
He was apparently well enough to get the hamburger bun...
He was worn out for a day then he recovered... We need to do that again :~)
It’s going to Vermont, and Florida, and South Carolina....
So, I’m walkin thru the airport this mornin’ headed for a meeting in RoseBear town.
I pass two guys standing around. I hear guy one (G1) say to guy two (G2), “you ever hear you look like Drew Pearson”? G2 says, “every day”.
Then G1 says, “you’re Drew Pearson, aren’t you”? G2, “yes”.
I didn’t recognize G2 by look, but his voice is distinctive.
I reserve the right to cover my eyes...
From the looks of that storm. there is a good chance that next week will be ‘interesting’. Good time not to be wearing a hat!!
Well, if you lose your hats... I can get you one next door...
I’ll even pay for it.
I’m hitting the couch, folks! Talk to you all tomorrow!
Sounds like an interesting story! Flagstaff, cool! What a gorgeous area. Sedona seems to be the place for the really nutcase new agers.
If you hear anything about a “Company” marathon on TNT, please let me know. We’ve managed to miss the first two episodes, and I didn’t want to jump right in on the third. In the meantime, I’m going to look for the book at the library.
Sounds like something Walker Percy might have said. Have you ever read any of his books? I believe one of his essays was named "Bourbon". One of his novels, "The Thanatos Syndrome" was a VEY good story!
Hmmm...I may have to check out Walter Percy. I need to read some more southern authors to get the style I want.
::Admits it would have been funnier if he hadn’t had to google “Drew Pearson.”::
I remembered him from watching the Cowboys in the playoffs back in the 70s... even though I'm a Packers fan. :-/
Heh...I did, too.
We haven't seen "Hot Fuzz" yet, but we're going to eventually! We both really liked "Shaun of the Dead".
I figured that style of knife would bring a smile to any grunt.
I have a few more stashed away, and will pick up a few more when I see them on sale. The last two are production overruns from a Garmin promotion. They have a big Garmin logo on the blade, but I got them super cheap. Like $30 for something with a street price of around $100.
Cisco’s like a little kid...while I was tidying up this weekend, I gathered allll his toys and put them in a bucket in the corner. He’s gotten them all back out, even the toys he’s not really played with for months. They’re spread all over the living room again...
Oh well. At least he does stick to his own toys!
Shows you where I’m coming from, when I read ‘Drew Pearson’ I thought of the old Washington Columnist, patron of Jack Anderson. Pearson was an anti-anti-communist, blamed for the death of Secretary of Defense James Forrestal, and the destruction of the Tucker Automobile company.
