The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

We had a big old thunder boomer go through here night before last, and I swear, by the morning, the grass was looking greener! It had been like potato chips the day before!

I am always hypersensitive to smells. One of the things I am really *not* looking forward to...

Nah, it seems to be flu.

That sounds unpleasant.

Does she do a post-traumatic-stress-molt? Oliver does that everytime he goes to the vet. His coat explodes like a dandilion. *poof* Hair. Everywhere.

Hope you get better soon!

I had a tummy episode last week and went home midday. That afternoon was a big organization-wide "town hall" meeting with the big chief muckety muck. He went over a bunch of agenda items including service awards. July marked my 5-year anniversary with this org so they had a nice generic certificate saying such. So big chief muckety muck calls up all the 30-year folks, then 25 and 20, and so on until the 5-year folks. He calls my name. (I'm not there of course.) Terrible awkward silence. Where's Lil?? Someone in the back says "She's on sick leave." "What?" "SHE WENT HOME SICK!!"

I'm still mortified. Everyone knows I'm human now. *pout*

The ‘vet office smell’ is a peculiar odor, that’s for sure. I bet Miss Kitty doesn’t like the way she smells either!

Just got Gyspy back from her walk, she is really loving this cooler temperature. “Can we go another 6 blocks, mom, huh, can we?” Me—”no”.

Nope. Not that I’ve observed. She’s been napping in the linen closet.

watched that sorry excuse of a congress embarass themselves

Not a big fan of Florida's own Congressman Wexler, I take it?

Nor the freaks in the gallery. Tho, the office mates got a kick out of the screeching because I turned the volume up really loud. The one gal was carrying on like someone was sticking pins in her. Decorum should transcend politics.

Petraeus deserves a medal for putting up with all those insults. And the worst is yet to come tomorrow.

I had to turn off Rush and Sean because I couldn't stand the foul orc speech coming from the RATs. I was praying for just ten seconds alone in a room with them, one at a time.

Decorum should transcend politics.

Code Pink, DU and the Daily Kos have raised lack of decorum to a high art! The Britney Spears and Paris Hiltons of Politics.

In the interest of public safety, I'd recommend you *not* listen to it. :P

Tomorrow should be worse.
