Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Jen, you’ll appreciate this.
Part of the area that’s the setting for my Nanowrimo was settled by Huguenots (I just found this out). I swear it’s a coincidence that the MC is named “Calvin.”
Woodcutter guys are gone :~)
They’ll be back tomorrow... so will Randy the farrier.
So is that like saying all the men are gone so it’s safe for your hubbit to come home?
How much of it did they get done?
They took most of the little fir they cut down, they took the other tree that we made the trail obstacle out of... not sure what else. I told them they could have anything that was dead. They just took it in 8 foot sections they’ll cut up at home, and that was about all their little truck could handle.
They also said they work at Papa Johns in Lacey and they’d give us free pizza whenever we come in :~)
They really want dead already cured stuff they can sell right away so they want the ones that are down in back too.
I said with winter coming, we might be able to keep them supplied in trees.
I’m just trying to help you be a better communicator.
I don’t think ~helping~ is really the right choice of words :~)
Now that could work out to be a great deal!
I supposed that could depend on who is being helped.
So to speak.
Well. I’m back with no problems. Miss Cat was doing her pitiful meow...which is lots better than her cussin’ meow. Got all the winders open.
Think I’ll fry up some liver pudding.
Gak!
A least you've already got the winders open.
Mmmmmm.....liver pudding.....
I’d be out in thesunroom with a book and a cup of tea but the Cubs are playing right now.
WooHoo! Glad you made it home safely, and Miss Kitty is fine. I opened the windows and turned on the attic fan to air the house out.
I decided to wax the bedroom floor before the new foundation (to replace the box springs) is delivered tomorrow. Considering I’ve been sleeping on the couch for over a week (horrible lower back pain), and I used the old-fashion waxing method today, I’m beginning to think maybe I’ll end up sleeping upright in a chair tonight. OB is on an over-nighter so neither of us will have to breathe any remaining VOC’s.
LSA
Did y’all get any rain from Gabrielle?
Ouch on the back pain.
On the shuttle bus back to the parking lot there was this guy with one of those big foam collar thingies on. Seems like he had a little mishap on his Florida vacation. And the bus driver was just bouncing in the the bumps and potholes. Poor guy!
Nah. Got a few clouds, though. I think they’re supposed to get rain later this week. Everything is brown down there and the dogwoods are looking poorly.
Depth, depth, depth. Keep it up and you’ll be rivaling Tolkien. :)
Seems like he had a little mishap on his Florida vacation.
Wonder if alcohol was involved?
I streamed CSPAN-3 to the office today and watched that sorry excuse of a congress embarass themselves. Petraeus deserves a medal for putting up with all those insults. And the worst is yet to come tomorrow.
