The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Not all my reading is done with an eye towards growing my love for God.

Sometimes I sits and thinks. Sometimes I just sits. :-)

Don't say that too loud on any of those threads.

Some of the folks on such threads seem to believe that anything other than the Bible and morality tales should be off limits. Probably the same folks who burn CDs and such 'cause they're "secular" and therefore evil.

I burn cds all the time, it’s a great way to have the stuff you actually like in the car.

Oh, wait....

I went to half-price books today and got three cross stitching books! One is Celtic patterns, one is Chinese patterns, and one is a “how-to” sort. I am very happy. Can’t wait to start some of these.

Personally, I believe God created things in life for us to simply enjoy. And if I believe He's the creator of everything, well...

I don't worship Harry Potter or worship through Harry Potter. But I enjoy reading the books.

I can't quote it all, before Luke came home from the hospital, I painted the words to a Madeline l'Engle poem/prayer around the walls of his room.

Thank you Lord for fairy tale creatures...

If I could get the PC up to his room, I'd post the rest of it. But I love the message that God created the fairy tale creatures.

We are not, I repeat not getting Sea Monkeys.

Apparently Sister Mary Hamburner kilt ‘em when she changed the water.

Oops.

That’s almost impossible. Its just a rum and coke. That’s it.

Not really among my favs. But with the prospect that maybe ~this~ time it really is true, I did one to toast the old b@$tard to hell. :-)

How much did you tip Sister Mary Hamburner?

Which reminds me, I shouldn’t mention it but I managed to smoke, melt, and burn a plate of fish sticks last night. Turned out the microwave’s power levels don’t work the way I thought they did.

Rum and coke is good, too, fer sure. Like Vanilla Coke, only better, albeit not as work safe.

Dang...if I only had coke...I’d have my choice. I could figure out which is best.
