Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I’m beginning to pack for my trip!
Squeee! I’m very excited for you! (You know we expect pictures...)
That’s funny right there, I don’t care who ya are.
The whole reason I’m going down there is to watch the dogs while my dad is having surgery. I am worried about the surgery, but I’m especially worried about the anesthesia. He just doesn’t tolerate it and the guy wouldn’t even consider a spinal.
Careful, somebody might get the idea you’re rebuilding a car or sumpin’.
I agree with you there - that kinda bothers me, too. Granted, it's a recurring theme in a lot of boarding school type stories, but...
Nice to seek you back to your regularly scheduled funkle. ;-)
Virginia Beach is okay. It’s not my favorite. A little too touristy, too crowded. We much prefer the Outer Banks.
HPITD...heh...I’d somehow missed that acronym before. Too funny!
I’d assume he brought his guitar, since it would almost take surgery to separate them...
Sending you FReepmail...
Heh...I’m pretty proud...we’ve accomplished a lot in the last few weeks.
*snicker*
Heh, didn't even notice till I came back to catch up.
I know what you mean about too touristy. Gulf Shores is like that; way too crowded. We enjoyed Fort Morgan, because it's out on the peninsula with NOTHING else out there. Yet, anyway.
Are you gonna get ‘Oz’ while you’re there?
We'll keep him in our prayers.
Hey Rosie!
The father of one of my cube-mate's had a similar predicament. He put out a live trap to catch a feral tomcat who had been beating up on his house cat but caught a skunk instead. His problem was that the trap was on the carport, right by the back door, so if the skunk sprayed, it would smell up the house for weeks. His solution was to go get an old rod and reel. He cast his line and hooked the trap and managed to drag it away from the house and off into the woods....then he shot the skunk from a distance. Not exactly a happy ending for the skunk, but I thought it was pretty good thinking on his part.
I saw it more as extended Mary Sue-ism. The kid was special, even in a special universe of special wizards.
Not all my reading is done with an eye towards growing my love for God. SF and fantasy does not have to inspire greater awareness of God than reading the New York Slimes. Any of those works might, but it's an unintended consequence.
In my case my heart problems made general anesthesia inadvisable, so they gave me woozy medication and a nerve block. This was for an amputation, don't know if it would apply to your father.
Just a reminder ‘Fellowship of the Ring’ on TNT at 8 pm EDT. The other two movies will be Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Heathen.
