Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Somebody really pegged the psych issues.
Sheesh.
Wow, she’s got no sense of humor at all, does she?
All of her threads tend to go the same way. It’s kinda amazing to watch.
it’s raining again. There is no rain in the forecast. I call foul.
She totally ruined one of my threads once...and you’re right...amazing to watch.
I’ll agree on your foul. This is one odd summer.
I wanted to mow pasture today.
Heh. Last time I had a $2000 tree removed from my roof I had to replace the driveway too.
You know my van has been giving me problems...the radiator would leak periodically and we couldn't find where it was leaking from? Well, I finally found the spot on Friday. A hose had a leak in it. I showed it to Steve when he got home.
Steve managed to unclamp the hose and pull it off. Then he cut the hose off right beneath were it was leaking and tried to push it back on. He couldn't because the clamp wouldn't allow it, so I suggested he hold the clamp open while I pushed the hose from underneath the car.
Well, that was a good idea but my arms were too short with me laying on the ground. So I got a couple of 2 foot long 2x6's and stacked them up, placed a cushion on top of that and then laid down on them with the boards under my head and between my shoulder-blades. That lifted me up enough to be able to adequately push up on the hose.
Now, although my head and shoulders were supported by the boards about four inches up, the rest of me was basically hanging off into thin air. Not very comfy.
Anyway, I started pushing up on the hose, Steve dealt with keeping it unclamped...I pushed with all my might, radiator fluid was running down my arms, dripping on my face (not in my eyes...had on safety glasses) and running into my hair. (That distressed me the most, because I had just washed my hair and had used the really nice hair treatment stuff that a friend gave me out of her garage.)
Steve was bellowing "PUSH!!!! PUSH!!!!" and I was chuckling because it's been almost nine years since anyone hollered at me to push like that.
So after a couple of really hard pushes, I felt it slip onto the connection and Steve let go of the clamp. Fixed! Didn't cost a dime.
Steve said "Great!" and walked off to enjoy a particular football play that was on the TV in the garage.
"HELLO!!!" says I...and he came running back and got me out from under the car where I was half hanging off into space off those boards!
Heh heh!
It's running great now!
I think it’s clearing. I guess I’m gonna go get wet.
We just finished with two days of drizzle, which gave us 1.6 inches of rain, and the coldest temperatures in history for August. It's still only in the low 60s as I write this.
I'm going to cash in some of carbon credits with Algore and withdraw some warming.
It’s just frustrating that there’s not a rain cloud in the forecast for a week, and yet...it’s drizzling.
I rode anyway. I got very muddy. I think as much as I’m conflicted about their appearance, it’s going to be nice having fenders. There’s a big ol’ skunk stripe up the back of the fleece top I wore on the way in, and it’s very soggy.
You guys make a great team...
An undeniably strange team at times, but a great team. ;-)
~grin~
Thank you. We’ll have been friends for twenty years this coming February...

Wow...my power went out.
Wonder what’s up...
It’s out now? Or it’s back on.... how are you posting?
FReeping with the power out was one of the few benefits of dial-up...
And your little phone dealie... we still don’t have a solution for internet... we’ve got the generator, but we can’t make the cable work if it’s out.
Da bug looks good!!
Please don’t invite her to a moot, OK.
