Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
And in other news - light wintery mix.
Heh...apparently my dog needs another vacation...he’s been out like a light ever since I’ve been home. It’s almost kind of spooky.
Our beagle is lame and exhausted. They had a good time!
I did some poking around under junk in the basement. I found a crate of 7.62mm I had put there "temporarily" about ten years ago, and then forgot about. Better than finding a misplaced $100 bill, although bills are easier to misplace.
When I worked at Nissan R&D, they had a yearly cleanup of all extra paperwork, and parts that engineers tended to accumulate. I watched as a document destruction truck ran around the clock, shredding paper. The car crusher (they had their own, so experimental cars could be destroyed on site) was kept busy, too.
After all the cleanup, I walked around, and couldn't tell that anything had changed.
No boogie. But I smoked 'em in bowling and in Electronic Banking Monopoly (Board game, non-Wii related).
Here’s hoping there will be an obvious difference, even to the most undiscerning eye, when I’m finished. Finding a case of 7.62, now that is way cool, can’t say I’ve found anything like that (yet). :-)
It was more like embarrassing. However, the knowledge that the ammo was now worth quite a bit more than when I first bought it helped me overcome my feelings of inadequate housekeeping.
Need a Wii one of these days...
We’re home. Exhausted, but it was a good trip.
Anyway, I'm still here. SirKit brought me a laptop so I'm freeping from the hospital. I had an echo cardiogram this morning and a Cardiac CT tonight. The heart rhythm doc said I have a wiring problem,and the AF caused my breathlessness. They'll come get me about 9, put me under with sedation in my IV, give me a nifty oxygen mask, then do their thing. One of the procedures is a scan of the back of the heart. They do it by sticking a tube down my throat. I asked the Doc if I'm under when they do that and he said yes. That's fine, as long as I don't have to know when it's happening. Then thehy apply tiny paddles to my chest and zap me. He said he whole thing takes about 15 mins. then they brring me back to my room.
So could y'all spare a prayer or two for me, while you're praying for g'nad? I'd appreciate it! Doc said I might be able to go home tomorrow evening, but Friday morning for sure, if there are no complications.
God bless you, SuziQ, you’re in my prayers. A-fib is debilitating but it can be tolerated, I’ve been in it for 16 years now.
Not a good way to spend Christmas. Hope everything goes well and you can go home soon.
Get some rest! :)
Oh dear SuziQ! I sure hope you’re feeling better and can go home soon. Thanks to SirKit for bringing you the laptop and letting us know!
Prayers that everything goes well today!
So did you have a fun Chistmas visit with your family? Did your Mom approve of the gifts for the bothers?
So... what time do we have to leave this morning? :~)
Gadzooks, Mrs. Q... Dang.
Prayers up of course. An interesting Christmas indeed.
I’ve been experiencing heart palpitations since at least 1998. I had a full work-up then; Holter Monitor, Echo Cardiogram, etc. Doc told me then, I had no underlying heart disease, and it must be funky wiring. He also said I might have to have the Cardio Version sometime. This was the first time I’ve ever had the breathlessness with it, though, so they considered it more series. That’s why I’m having the shock treatment. ;o)
Well, ugh. That’s no fun! Here’s hoping you’re home by the end of the week!
