The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Well, I have a new toy... I downloaded MS Photo Story software and I've been making videos from all the snapshots I've got...

A couple to share! My first attempt: BayStory Jewel - Standing still

And my latest one... One Trick Pony

Hope you guys can view them :~)

Those are really good! I’ll have to ask Clare if she’s familiar with that software.

It’s a free download... Photo Story 3.

It’s easy to use, but a little difficult to work the timing... the first couple attempts didn’t sync right. But it’s really fun.

It won’t handle actual videos... that would be cool too.

Photo Story is what I used to do those entries I put on theblog last year. It’s a cool program. Especially for free.

You can work with the timing. It just gets tricksey to know how long to show a particular image or transition.

Off to the nayber’s. They’re having Luke and me over for lasagne. One of the benefits of single parenting. ;-)

That’s a great link and the craftsmanship is spot-on. Too bad you have already got your cabin started. :-)

Finishing our basement is in our distant future. We would love to incorporate some Hobbitecture elements.

Today our boss takes his immediate staff out to lunch at his favorite Chinese restaurant. Where we go for every celebration. We were supposed to go yesterday but he had to reschedule. We asked his secretary if we could just have his card and go somewhere we wanted to go.

Organization-wide "Holiday Lunch" is tomorrow. Complete with a "holiday" choir singing "secular holiday music." (that's how the announcement went out.)

I'm going with a subliminal picture of Mike Huckabee floating behind my head...
