This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I’ve been a bit surprised at the number of people I’ve had to comfort..that has called or stopped by to unload on me about how they feel bad that they didn’t come see him, and their guilt and blah blah blah...I’ve had to finally tell a few of them, you know, I just really don’t want to hear this, I’m dealing with my own grief, I don’t need yours piled on top,,,is that rude?
Becky
LOL!! My Grandaddy had a Tom Turkey that would do that to my sister when she was little. I think she's still traumatized! ;o)
It was amazing...I didn’t really know how to respond either...but now that I’m not going to be blind sided with her problems, I’m not listening anymore...we handle the sale or she can leave, that’s it.
Becky
It is what it is... you’re right, you have to take care of yourself and you don’t need it.
I think you have license to be rude if you want for at least the next several weeks. :~)
I mean... most people just don’t know what to say or what to do, and they feel guilty about that too... So they say something about themselves and it’s not the right thing and ... It’s not something we learn how to handle well.
(The worst part was the embarassment - first grade, older kids watching, etc.

Well, I was with her until she invited you to call if you need someone to crawl in bed with... I mean... theirs grieved, and then there’s looney.
Do you even know this woman? :~)
Yikes, sorry about the double post.
Nope, never met her before in my life.
Becky
My friend just called me from north of Tuscaloosa and says it's spitting snow on the interstate.
I think that’s level-jumping the relationship to say the least. :~\
It’s a crazy world out there, crazy world...
I think you meant to post to Frog... I’m a long drive from you, up here in Washington :~)
Becky and I rode QHs though, with Frog and her gaiteds, last year... we jogged along behind them... and they still had to stop and wait. It’s good for them. Builds patience :~)
oops — sorry - I did!
OOPs, gotta run.
Whoooa, that's bizarre! I'm sure you were just looking for a way to get away from her at that point, 'specially if you were there by yourself. I think if I was going to be showing anything else I'd try to meet them down at the building or something, where there'd be some other people around. Some people are so strange!
I've never seen one do that before. Didn't know it could happen.
Not at all!! It's called self preservation. I'm glad you did it. Some people nearly have to be hit upside the head with a frying pan before they realize that what they're doing is thoughtless and selfish. They should be comforting you, not unloading their own emotional baggage on you!
It was spitting snow when I left for work this morning but it hadn't amounted to much, but my husband called me when he left about an hour later and said his car was covered, so it must've come a pretty good little snow shower after I left. We didn't get any here at work though. I must be a snow repellent.
The bikes are in town and Jenny was there with me. She came today with a friend who took it out and rode it. She is suppose to call tomorrow to come get it. She didn’t say anything strange today, but was going to hug me as she was leaving, but I just stuck my hand out:)
Becky
It’s sortof a good argument for those who say we’re crazy to meet people online.
Heck... the people I’ve met online aren’t nearly as weird as the people I’ve met “in real life”! And even if they were... they live further away!
