This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I’ve been out cleaning up dog crap. Been too cold for awhile and it’s been frozen. ;~\
Man, that Barkley is the biggest Sh___ting dog I’ve ever seen.
He craps bigger’n Homer.
I know that scooping up frozen horse crap is easier than fresh. When it’s frozen it’s like scooping up little charcoal briquettes. Doesn’t fall apart at all.
Such lovely topics of conversation we’re having today! ;o)
The horses are next. ;~)
Barkley... I think it’s just all the crap he eats... and I don’t mean what we feed him ;~)
EEEEEWWWWWWW!!! No kisses from him then!
On that note... I’m headed out to do the stalls. :~)
Good afternoon.
I went to town and got a few things done, then stopped and rented a disc of Lost. Mack and I had not finished last season. I believe the disc I got is one I’ve seen, but it will be a refresher since it’s been awhile since I watched it. I have my DVR set to record the new one on Thurs. but won’t watch till I finish last season.
Becky
Oooh it starts this Thursday? I’m glad you reminded me!
I barely remember where we left off....
Oh well, good thing about LOST is, at least they flashback and remind us of the story often.
I have season three, still unopened. I’m thinking about watching them this weekend.
I think you are the only one that got my joke:’)
It’s a baaaaaad joke ;~)
Nah??????? LOL. Around here, people fall in the floor laughing. I just need to learn to roll my Rs better:’)
You’re not gonna believe this, but I think somebody siphoned off about a half a tank of fuel out of my truck sometime between the time I got home from the ride Sunday night and this morning. I decided to drive it to work today because the radio went out in the Jeep yesterday, and of course I can’t drive a vehicle without a radio, but when I got down to my BIL’s this morning to check on the horses I noticed that the fuel light was on and I had MAYBE 1/8 of a tank of fuel left. Now I KNOW that I had almost a half a tank when we got back Sunday night, plus I had reset the trip meter when I left home and the trip meter only had 254 miles on it and that truck will go almost 500 miles on a full tank. I had to stop and buy fuel to make it to work! It took almost $50 to get it back up to half full, and at this particular market the pump cuts off at $75 so I just let it go at that. So needless to say, I’m going to Wal-Mart at lunch and buy me a locking fuel cap. I’ll bet it was some high school kid with a big truck and an empty wallet who noticed that it sits there all by itself every day and decided it was easy pickings. :-/ Pissed me off Royally!!!
Dang! Bastages! Phooey.
That’s what I said!
They had the locking fuel caps at Wal-Mart, but they had several different ones and they couldn’t tell me which one would fit my particular truck, and since the warning label on the thing itself said it was “only for use on certain vehicle applications” and “check the manufacturer’s reference guide to ensure that this cap is correct for your vehicle” I decided I’d just go to O’Reilly’s and get it there. It was a bit more expensive, but at least they had the manuals and could tell which one was right. Wal-Mart is great for some stuff, but if you don’t already know what you need then you’re S-O-L.
I’m so sorry that happened! My elderly mom chased some men out of her drive about 2 years ago who were trying that trick on a truck — then THEY CAME BACK and she had to chase them away again!
You all have a safe weekend. We’re going to NC to visit our son and his family. No riding this weekend, but I get to see my grandsons.
Well y’all drive safe and have fun. Hopefully the weather’ll hold out ‘til you get there. We’re supposed to get nasty weather again tomorrow. My power went out from about 8-9pm last night. The wind was just howling so I’m sure there were some powerlines down somewhere. We just went on to bed and enjoyed a little extra sleep.
Thanks!
I have always had mine built. Two of them were really good and another not so good; but you can get more bang for your buck. Like all the bells and whistles you pay premium price for can be had for half the price.
Just be sure and get someone that knows what they are doing and not someone who is practicing. LOL
