This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I was gonna ask about that... are these the kids trying to get up on the roof again?
An 8ft fence with razor wire on top would be a pretty good deterrent to me!
I don’t think this lot would generate enough business to ever earn a profit. Most of the problems are just local town folk who just need to be re-educated. This building sat empty for years, and people just got in the habit of thinking it was OK to park here. I think once they know they can’t the turmoil will stop. It’s just small town thinking is in place, and they are just having trouble understanding that there are retail shops here now that depend on that lot for customers. Hard to teach old dogs new tricks:)
No these kids were too small to do that kind of climbing, they were just out there shaking the pipes for want of something better to do.
LOL...razor wire is a thought, but I imagine it’s against the law too. We had thought about wrapping the pipes with barb wire but the gas company said that was a definite no no.
Little kids with foul mouths. How precious.
Hey Beaker!
Driving in TOWN around SF is darn scary! Glad you’re having fun out there! PICTURES? :~)
No kidding and the lanes are too narrow. There no “weaving” room.
Hey Beaker, so glad you are having a good time:)
Here's an afternoon update from me... I've gotten next to nothing else done today so I might as well run with it.
I started out with the glove on a stick today, even though the Tortie and I had progressed beyond this, I wasn't sure how the new orange kitty would respond.
As you can see, she's loving it. She likes her belly rubbed! I've never had a cat that liked that, my pet cats scratch me if if I rub their bellies. Quirky!
He's trying to get away, but he didn't spit or bite or scratch at it, he just eventually retreated to the litter box underneath, where he spent the next few hours.
But he did get bolder and venture out again eventually.
The little Tortie, as you can see, is being fairly curious and forward about contact with me now... sniffing at my bare fingers here...
Brother decided to head back to the litterbox when I opened the door again, but he'll come around. It's been a hard day for him.
Sister is sure happy he's with her, even if he's not, yet.
Seriously, I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with it.
Hey, good to hear from you :) California is no place to drive unless you were born and raised there like me. And it even scares me now. It used to be, turn on your blinker and change lanes - the guy behind knew you were coming over and generally slowed down rather than risk a dent. Nowdays, there are way too many people for whom english is a second language and driving becomes a destruction derby. Hope you have a great time there :)
I guess you could always have the little orange one neutered and then turn him loose with his mom. Perhaps he will find out that he likes people though - I hope so.
Hey Beaker! Good to hear from you! I was just wondering when you were going back to CA just the other day. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it. It’s gorgeous out there.
Awwww, Sister is so cute, letting you rub her belly like that!
She may talk her brother into the same frame of mind - or she may decide to keep all the Good Things for herself.
He does still look quite suspicious, but he's a few days behind the fair. He may come round, especially with help from Sis.
My older Lab has hung around with Border Collies so much that she likes to herd - surprised the heck out of the trainer she boarded with when she started herding the other dogs and the grandchildren - but she doesn't have that keenness. She shows THAT with ducks - it's like somebody pressed a switch and all of a sudden she's on fire.
Kitties are so cute:) Your crate for them looks so cat friendly...they should be very content there. Love the glove on the stick....very practical and smart:)
