This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
We’d be happy to see y’all!
Glad you found a good home for Jody.
Hoping you don’t have a cracked or broken anything.
I hear broken tail bones are really painful, and there’s not really anything that can be done for them, other than sitting on a donut pillow and letting them heal on their own. I’m just glad it’s not your hip.
I don’t remember if I told y’all or not, but the the MRI I had on Monday did show a torn rotator, so I’m looking at surgery sometime down the road, maybe around the first of the year when the weather’s bad anyways. Gotta let this ankle heal up first so I can enjoy my fall riding!
Well that’s good news about selling Jody to friends. Hopefully she’ll work out well for them.
So do you have a riding horse left or are you borrowing?
Sorry to hear about the torn shoulder, hope it is not too painful.
Thanks, I hope so too. The pain meds have sure helped a lot more than the Advil.
I’m sorry you all have these health issues, and hope you get them resolved soon.
I guess I need to just get busy and list my horses on some of the internet sites...you all seem to have good luck getting some responses. Which sites do you use?
horse.com
equinehits.com
freehorseads.com
horsetopia.com
I just do search for free horse ads and pick some.
The horsetopia charges, but you can put a video on it.
I list my horses on
http://www.horsetopia.com which charges but cost is reasonable.
http://www.equinenow.com I think is the site - it’s free
and
http://www.dreamhorse.com which is more expensive and I only list a couple of horses there with a link to our website which has more.
I also list them occassionally on http://www.craigslist.com and there I list some locally and some in other cities depending on where I think there might be a market.
Good luck.
I sold Ellie on http://www.agdirect.com/
And a link to a video of them coming home.

Very very cool!
Man, that is some big sky and wide open space! Very neat.
I’ve always wondered what Montana is like. They call it Big Sky country but I can’t imagine any view bigger than mine.
Well, today was another day of firsts. Rocky cut his leg last weekend, did I tell you all? Anyway, it’s not serious but is being doctored and rewrapped every other day so hopefully no scars or proud flesh. Anyway, when he came out today to get treated he got a lesson or two in haltering, got measured (he’s 12.5 hands at just four months old), and then the farrier showed up so he got his front feet trimmed. He’s a lot like Sonny - totally fixed on the camera and looking good for it :) I imagine you could teach him anything without a fuss if you were taking pictures of him at the same time.
Janelle hauled Tuffy over today and he went on his very first trail ride - he had a ball, even though they (Janelle, Tuffy, Bob and Prez) went to the “gym” and worked hard. His only problem was he does not like a horse ahead of him. He’ll go way off on his own, or lead but following is not his bag.
Yes, Hair - Bob took pictures of Tuffy and I took pictures of Rocky, when I finally get the video of Tuffy downloaded to Photobucket, I’ll post some of the pictures. Bob is out now on the ATV with Troy riding Lace so he’ll have pictures of her too.
This is up at the "gym"

Aw - great pictures, and glad they had a good ride! Tuffy’s looking good!
And so is Rocky. He’s another special one I think. Hope his leg heals up with no complications.
Thanks. His leg seems to be healing well, and it’s healing from the inside out which is good. He’s an awful like his sire - loves the camera, loves women and he’s smart as a whip. I think he’s going to do great things for the lady that bought him, and help her realize some of her dreams. I hope she keeps me updated on how he’s doing.
Tuffy and Rocky look great!
